Camp Wannalaffalotta

June 2, 2008

For several summers when we first moved to Kansas City, we hosted a weekly summer playday at our home. I picked one day of the week and issued an open invitation to all our friends and neighbors. We never knew who might stop by, but it was a fun way to add structure and fun to our summer. You can read more about it here.

I highly recommend this if it fits into your summer’s schedule. It is such a good time for both moms and kids!
(Since I’m having a baby this summer, we’ve chosen to forego it this season. But, we’ll be sure to do it again another year.)

Love the picture! I also love this idea and I think my kids would really love it.

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
