How did you become a freelance writer? How did you find your writing niche?

Quick answer – by accident. I submitted an article to a local parenting magazine and they printed it. The publisher was kind enough to explain that there were 100s of other regional parenting publications and explained a little about how to pursue them. This is my third summer writing. It’s been really fun and a great way to supplement our income.
