Warm brie sounds fantastic...

I've never heard of fruit salad on a roll. That would be interesting to try.

Cheesecake, oh yes. We've got a Cheesecake Factory here. Maybe that's in order.

Chicken salad with grapes, yummy.

Crista, thanks for the recipe! Sounds great.

This is one of my very favorite recipes. It is for a coffee cake, but you can serve it as a dessert, or you can make it as muffins too. Everytime I take it places, everyone wants the recipe:

Blueberry Cake (MN State Fair winner)

Cream 3/4 c. sugar with 1/4 c. butter.

Add 1/2 c. buttermilk (I've used milk too), 1 egg, and 1/2 t. almond extract (must have this to give the cake the flavor)

Sift in: 2 c. flour, 2 t. baking powder & 1/2 t. salt

Stir all together. Fold in 2 cups blueberries. Sprinkle on topping. Bake in greased spring form pan (10 inches) at 375 for 45 minutes.

Here's the topping:
Mix together till crumbly:
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. flour
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/4 c. butter

You can see why it tastes so good; with all the rich ingredients, but it is such a treat.

I know you already have lots of chocolate stashed away for the fest and that's certainly the first MUST have.

One of my favorite "girl" lunches is fresh baked rolls with fruit salad on them. We just add whipped cream to a can of mixed fruit, grapes, sliced bananas, coconut and (of course) little chocolate chunks.

Have a wonderful time!

Anytime I get to eat with my mom and sis, we go for things our "meat and taters guys" won't touch-- one favorite is warm brie and tomatoes on foccacia bread with red bell pepper hummus. We also tend to eat some decadent ice cream concoction for at least one meal... yum!
