CVS: Case In Point

Early this evening I ran out to CVS. Sunday nights are a good time for me to do this because it gets it out of the way. I am not tempted to think about when to squeeze in a quick trip on a school day. Go on Sunday and I don’t think about it again.
Tonight I did some of the deals I told you about.
10 Hershey Special Dark = $5.00
6 packs gum = $6.00
2 packs diapers = $20.00
subtotal $31.00 (Ouch! I would never pay that!)
minus 5 BOGO coupons on the chocolate, that is $2.50
minus $3.00 gum coupons
minus $3.00 Pampers coupons
I paid 22.50 in ECBs that I had from last week and cash
I got back $10 in ECBs, making my “cost” $12.50 for two jumbo packs of diapers, 6 packs of gum for stocking stuffers, and 10 chocolate bars that I’ll use instead of choc chips in baking.

These sales are good until Saturday night, so head on out!

DUH – what a simply GENIUS idea to use Hershey bars instead of chocolate chips! Now I know what to do with some of this extra Halloween candy. Thanks!

  2. Choc chips are so wickedly expensive right now, I’m getting very creative in finding substitutes.

I know you don’t have Aldi where you’re at in Cali, but for those of us who DO have it, I think it’s the best place to buy choc chips right now. At 1.15 per bag, I find them very reasonable.

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
