Links of Love

I have been trying to curb the amount of “surfing” I do these days. (More on that later.) But, here are some good things I found this past week or so.

– Love this gift idea from Danielle about making coasters. (Danielle is an artist – love her stuff!) If you bought bigger tiles, you could make trivets or even wallhangings. One might combine this idea with GiBee’s decorated white platter idea and let the kids draw on white tiles. This is definitely something that the FishKids could help with. It’s also right up FishPapa’s alley since it involves a trip to Lowe’s, x-acto knives, and a straight edge, so we could make this into a family project. If you make them to ship, make sure that you wrap them well with bubble wrap and pack them in a flat rate box.

– A few months ago I landed at Simple Mom. What a great place! This post, On Juggling Many Hats, struck a cord with me as I struggle to juggle a lot these days.

Tip Nut is a great site for finding good ideas about just about everything. I liked this list of 10 Ideas for Recycling Old Towels. I can just see myself in #2. Now I just need to save enough money to buy NEW towels, so that I can recycle the old ones.

Crystal’s baking day posts offered great inspiration to me. Actually, it brought back sweet memories of when it was just FishBoy11 and me. Every Monday we baked bread, muffins, cake, and cookies. So, I’m going to plan one day into our school curriculum next week for baking. Should be a hoot to have all SIX KIDS working in the kitchen. If I survive it, I’ll post pictures!

– If you buy in bulk, like we do, you’ll want to check out Glimpse of Sonshine‘s post about divvying up that big purchase.

Found a great surfing spot? Don’t keep it a secret! Share it in the comments.

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
