TGIF: Our Family’s Fun This Week

Overall, it’s been nice to enjoy 60 degree weather. I feel as though I am in a time warp. I know that KC, my town just two short months ago, is experiencing chilly weather these days. It’s surreal to set up the Christmas tree in sunshine and bare feet.

Man, I need a pedicure! Usually by December in the Midwest, my feet were hybernating for the winter.

Not to rub it in or anything….

In other news, here’s what we’ve done for entertainment this week:

- take a walk around the nearby lake
- watch Shrek the Halls and How the Grinch Stole Christmas
- bake cookies
- eat our way through three batches (six loaves) of homemade bread!
- hose off the Christmas tree (more on that later)
- enjoy a playday with friends
- make all sorts of designs with pattern blocks

Tonight we’re going to enjoy lasagna and homemade focaccia with my brothers and decorate the tree.

How are you going to celebrate Friday night with your family?

  1. We went to dinner at a friend’s house. They served Red Snapper, we took dessert. It was a nice visit. Their 4 month old and our 19 month old are going to be great friends some day.

  2. Briana Almengor says:

I took a new friend over to our church to see beautifully and uniquely decorated tables that many women in our church set for tomorrow’s ladies Christmas breakfast. Then, I came home, put on Christmas music and decorated our tree, and for the first time with my boys’ help. :)
Now, it’s after 11 pm., all are in bed and I’m still cleaning up b/c I want to walk downstairs to everything decorated and in its place. So, back to work for me.

  3. we had our weekly pizza night, the boys wanted pepperoni & mushrooms, i tried pesto pizza. i had to ask big boo to put his carrot down and work on his pizza, LOL! lasagna sounds good. i'll have to make that soon, put lots of veggies in, mmmm. tomorrow we're chopping down a tree and decorating! christmas time with little kids is fun.

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
