Family Fun: April Fool!

Planning ahead for tomorrow…. It’s April Fool’s, you know. I would love to try all this fake food, but I know from experience, my kids don’t always respond well to being tricked, at least not where food is concerned. It’s bound to end up with someone pouting. And for me, that’s no fun.

I’d rather April Fool’s be about something that will make everyone smile.

So, for us it’s going to be backwards eating! We’ll have dessert for breakfast: apple pie and homemade ice cream. And, we’ll have breakfast for dinner: eggs, bacon, potatoes and donuts!

And for kicks, I’ll hide a few dollars this way.

For inspiration, check out this list of the Top 100 April Fool’s Day Hoaxes of All Time.

What kind of spoof do you have planned?

  1. What a really cute idea! I hadn’t even considered doing something like this for April Fools Day! I’ll have to go think about this. :) Thanks for posting!

We’re doing the same thing! My kids don’t eat apple pie, so I’m making chocolate cake for bfast. Hey…it was good enough for the Huxtable kids…remember that episode? Dad is great…he gives us chocolate cake!! He has a valid point…it has eggs, milk, flour, etc…Hee hee! Oh…and for a joke on my husband, I’m sewing all of his boxer briefs together…just a stitch or two, each waistband to the bottom of another pair, so they make one big row…like a laundry line. He should find that hilarious at 5:30am, right??!!

  7. Thanks for the April Fool’s Day dinner idea. We had breakfast for dinner. The donuts were the incentive that motivated everyone to finish their eggs and potatoes.
Oh and I added a plastic cockroach onto my husband’s plate of food. I had a fabulous laugh at dinner.

  8. Dear Friends, Happy Fool’s Day!

A man speaks frantically into the phone, “My wife is pregnant, and her contractions are only two minutes apart!”
“Is this her first child?” the doctor queries.
“No, you idiot!” the man shouts. “This is her husband!”
A woman got on a bus holding a baby.
The bus driver said, “That’s the ugliest baby I’ve ever seen.”
In a huff, the woman slammed her fare into the fare box and took an aisle seat near the rear of the bus.
The man seated next to her sensed that she was agitated and asked her what was wrong.
“The bus driver insulted me,” she fumed.
The man sympathized and said, “Why, he’s a public servant and shouldn’t say things to insult passengers.”
“You’re right,” she said. “I think I’ll go back up there and give him a piece of my mind.”
“That’s a good idea,” the man said. “Here, let me hold your monkey.”

    Happy April Fool’s Day!
