I’m getting a little weary of the grocery store. As much as I love the challenge of the hunt for good deals, my grocery trips take a pretty big bite out of my week, about 2-4 hours planning, organizing coupons, and shopping. It’s totally worth it in terms of dollars and sense. But, I think I am ready for a break.
When I read about Crystal’s Eat-From-the-Pantry challenge, I was intrigued. Could we just make do with what we have? Probably. But, then again, I might miss out on a really good deal. It’s hard for me to pass up a sale. But, self-control is what frugal living is all about, isn’t it?
So, I decided that I’m going to take the rest of the month off from any major shopping. I scoped out the cupboards, fridge, and freezer, and planned out all the meals that I know I can make. I made a trip for some odds and ends on Saturday to round things out. I have a feeling that more meals may be possible than I think. At this point I am hoping we can make it until May Day, except for a stop or two for milk and fresh produce. We shall see….
Here’s my plan for the next 2-3 weeks of meals:
