Big News at SwagBucks

Several months ago I heard about this search engine called SwagBucks. I’d read people talking about “earning points for doing what you do all the time,” that is, search the web. And, as usual, I was skeptical. But, since that time, by making it the main search engine on our computers, by finding “swagcodes” for extra points and by referring friends, we’ve won over 3000 SwagBucks. That translates into lots of free gift cards. We’ve traded our SwagBucks for gift cards to Amazon, Starbucks, and iTunes. Very fun!

If you haven’t signed up, you can get three extra points on signup by using this code: LIFEASMOM (case sensitive). 3 for signing up and 3 for using this code.

There were some glitches with my code earlier, but those are now reolved. Use LIFEASMOM when you signup. The code will expire next Tuesday, the 16th at 11:59pm PST.

And for you SwagBucks veterans, changes are a coming: new features, new widgets, a new site navigation and more. SwagBucks will also be running a number of “Swag Code” hunts on their Facebook, Blog and Twitter pages, and offering a limited time, special gift with every purchase of selected items in the Swag Store.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

I've been using Swagbucks for a couple of months now, and have nowhere near that point total…. how do you do it? How do you get Swagbucks to work for you? I'd love a post or some tips :) a

I'm with Snow White here. How do you get it to work for you. I've had it on our computer for several months, but still have less than 100 SwagBucks. Where/How do you find swagcodes?

I've found it helpful to install the Swagbucks tool bar on my computer. That way it's always handy when I need to search for something.

I heard someone else say that they use the Swagbucks toolbar to search rather than typing in the web address for each site they visit. So, if you're headed to http://www.lifeasmom.com, you type Life as Mom in the Swagbucks search bar instead. I haven't done much of this myself.

I have gotten extra "bucks" by referring people to Swagbucks. You get as many "bucks" as the people you refer (up to 100 for each person, I think). That's really boosted my total. Hope that helps!

  4. The code isn't working – it told me that LIFEASAMOM was not valid, so I tried LIFEASMOM, which it said had expired :-(

Kara, I'm looking into it. Thanks for letting me know. The code will only be good for new signups.

Snow White and Unfinished Mom, I've made swagbucks the homepage on our computer. So anytime my husband and kids search (which is a lot) they search that way. FishPapa had great luck in nabbing high ticket Swagbucks like 5's and 10's. I just got a 4pointer the other day.

I've noticed, too that I earn points when I go back to the search page. For instance, I was searching for orca bday cakes. I searched on swagbucks, looked at a cake, came back to the search page and even though I hadn't won the 1st time I was on the search page, I won when I came back.

  6. Jenn @ youknow... that blog? says:

Yep, your code isn't working – I tried lower case also, which didn't work. Can you drop me a line on my blog when you get it sorted out? Waiting to hear back from you!

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
