Counting the Days

June 21, 2009

Every day is a bank account
And time is our currency
So nobody’s rich, nobody’s poor
We get 24 hours each
So how are you gonna spend
Will you invest, or squander
Try to get ahead
Or help someone who’s under

Teach us to count the days
Teach us to make the days count
Lead us in better ways
That somehow our souls forgot
Life means so much
Life means so much
Life means so much

- Chris Rice, Life Means So Much

Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
- Psalm 90:12

Thank you for that beautiful reminder. Too many times I get to the end of the day and wonder where the time went? This reminds me the importance of slowing down and making each second, minute, hour, day count! :)

I really like the line "Lead us in better ways". It just seems to resonate with me right now. Thanks for sharing this poem.

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
