If someone had told me a few short years ago that I’d be lamenting the fact that I didn’t take pictures of my groceries this week, I think I would have had them committed. Yeah, it’s a crazy world we live in.
I mentioned last week the great deal that Albertsons had. From reader response, I’m guessing it was only a So Cal thing. But, people, throw us a bone, OK? As much as Californians pay in taxes, our state shouldn’t be in, well, that state it’s in!
But, I digress.
The Albertsons sale rocked – major big time! Buy $30 worth of items (before coupons) and get back $15 in catalina coupons. The catalinas could be rolled into a future transaction of the same kind, making the out of pocket very small. I ended up going back two more times. And I’m kicking myself that I didn’t go back every day. It was that good of a sale. Some highlights:
Yo Plus yogurt $.25/4 pk
Kix cereal, as low as $.25/box
Klondike bars, as low as $.45/6pk
Breyers ice cream, as low as $.70/carton
Nature Valley nut bites $.25/bag
Skippy peanut butter $.80/jar
Knorr pasta sides $.17/pouch
There were tons of things on sale, but I focused on items that were highest in nutritional value, ice cream excluded, and that I had the highest dollar coupons for. I’ve basically just been building my stockpile and making dinners work from what I have.
I made stops at Costco and my local health foods store, but nothing terribly exciting to write home about. But, the cupboard, freezer, and fridge are full, as are our bellies, so I think we’re doing okay.
