Tonight’s pizza night is taking a slight twist from the usual. My friend Jessika is visiting this weekend with her two kiddos while her husband is on a sailing trip. Oh what fun we’re having! This morning we visited the first of the California Missions, Mission de San Diego de Alcala.
FishPapa’s coworkers sent home a couple pizzas with him leftover from lunch. But, since we’re a bigger crowd than normal, it’s not quite enough to feed us all. Rather than cook more pizza to make up the difference, I’m supplementing our meal with all sorts of fun food. This “snacky dinner” is a great way for us to switch to relaxation mode.
Instead of a full, sit-down menu, we’re going to live it up with a little mocktail party. Here are some ideas of fun snacks that make a great meal:
- pizza
- salad
- veggies and dip
- hummus and potato chips – one of my favorite combinations
- nacho plate
- fancy cheeses and bread
- grapes and apple slices
- pound cake and chocolate fondue
- chocolate chip cookies
- favorite beverages all around
In what fun way are you entering the weekend?
