Ever substituted evaporated milk for fresh? I tried that recently — with my little helpers here — and share my experience in this review.

That's a good idea. My mother-in-law uses evaporated milk in mashed potatoes, so I've started doing that too per hubbie's preferences :) I have a case from Smith's (Kroger) case lot sale, so I'll have to use it up in baking recipes!

It's amazing the ways we can improvise when we put our heads together, isn't it?

You have a little "glamour girl" there for a helper. What a doll. There is always evaporated milk in my pantry as well as powdered. We live in the boonies and have had 1 blizzard already this fall. Preparedness is necessary.
