We travel with 3 kids, a dog and this year a new kitten. We sound a lot like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! We spend the days cooking up a storm, playing in the snow if we are lucky enough to have it, watching movies and playing games. The entire family comes here so we end up with a pretty big crowd and lots of kids. We hardly see our kids because they are either out back playing or in the basement playing with each other. We're only staying one night so that we can have some R & R time at home too. I won't be home in time for the Black Friday sales, but that's okay. I am doing it so that I won't have an ounce of guilt when I have 3 pieces of pie later in the day ;)<br /><br />My mom and grandmother will host the dinner, but everyone kicks in so that don't have to do everything. I am baking a Chocolate Pecan pie and taking drinks and dinner rolls. I will be up early on Thursday to run in the local Turkey Trot 5k. Hubs is thinking about getting up the leaves (we'll see if it's dry enough - it's been rainy) and my turkey day project is to clean out our 2 chest freezers! I am planning a special breakfast and dinner, but no turkey is involved. Friday we'll probably have dinner with the in-laws and hub's bro + wife, and Saturday is a family reunion - yup, another Saturday away from home! And... that's what we're doing! We were hoping to have our best friends from out of state come, but plans changed last minute. That's okay, the maternal grandparents and my siblings are still coming. <br /><br />We live in Jersey now but are still Philadelphians at heart so of course we will make a pilgrimage to the city for the big parade before we eat!<br /><br />And Thanksgiving weekend is always the kickoff to the Christmas season for us. We will pull out the decorations and go to out church's annual tree lighting and gingerbread house party.<br /><br />Fun, fun, fun!<br /><br />:) We are hosting the feast here at our house.
