Grocery Geek Presents: Free Batteries

December 5, 2009

Since I did a whole lot of cooking around here this week, I didn’t do any major shopping. I guess staying home and cooking up a storm was my way of saving money. I did have hubs stop off at Staples on his way home from work one day and pick up these babies:

They were free! I paid out of pocket money that will be fully reimbursed by Staples next month via Staples Rewards. Free batteries, plus I didn’t have to rush out to buy them. I ordered them online and had them shipped to the store. (Read here for how you can replicate this deal yourself.) In the end we paid the tax, but since I made the order through ShopAtHome, I’ll be getting some money back on the entire purchase.

Just wanted to point out that there's no restriction on having multiple members of the same household do the deal. So I did once for myself and once for my husband (tempted to do my kids, too, but I restrained myself. :-) ) As long as you're heading to the store, you might as well pick up 4 packs instead of 2! Hope that helps.

Do staples rewards give you store credit or a check you can cash?

It's a store coupon/voucher good for more purchases at Staples, like CVS' ECBs.

I did this deal too through ebates and shipped to store. I paid less because I had a $21 check from my backpack purchase in the summer.

I did ordered these last week. I went to shopathome, created an account, and clicked through to order the batters. But the purchase still doesn't show up on my shopathome account… how long does it take to show up?

Joella, I don't know. I'm learning the ShopAtHome stuff with ya.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
