As you know, we’re big on birthday cakes [5] around here. So it only follows that we would make the New Year a “birthday” cake as well. We’ve been doing this for quite some time. I can’t even remember when it started. And we usually get a photo of all the kids around the cake that we eat either on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. It’s amazing to see how our kids grow and change over the years.

Bake a cake with your kids. Enlist their help in decorating and make sure that you have number candles [6] to signify the year. 2010? Wow! Time flies, so have some fun!

What special dessert do you make at New Year’s?
