Pantry Must-Have: Maseca

January 19, 2010

A must-have for my pantry is a bag of Maseca. It’s the go-to ingredient for making homemade corn tortillas. Check out my tutorial and see how easy it is to make these yourself.

And don’t forget to come to Ultimate Recipe Swap on Thursday and share your favorite recipe based on Pantry Staples.

Okay… I was reading too quickly and thought your title said MASCARA. I was thinking to myself… What in the WORLD is she using mascara for in the KITCHEN? Sounds like I need to take off the mascara and get some sleep!

I read “mascara” too! :)

I never heard of this product! I’m always learning new things in the bloggy world! :)

Dear Jessica, I totally agree, being a mom is such a big job, but now my kids are older (I’m a granma!) and I can see that all efforts were worthy, and that lights my day.

Maseca is always in my kitchen too! I’m from Mexico and it’s a MUST for tortillas. But I also prepare a lot of different things (you can check it on my website: http://www.donamasita.com/en/ ) with it. I love the fact that is also gluten free so my celiac friends have a choice!

This is for the girls that haven’t heard of Maseca before: http://www.mimaseca.com

Thanks Jessica for sharing your thoughts with us.

Love,
Doña Masita

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
