So Thankful for My Family Man, My Sweet Valentine

As you know, last week I went out of town for four days. It was the longest time that I had been away from my husband and children. And truth be told, despite my fancy info sheet, I didn’t do the best job at setting my family up for success. Meals were not easy to put together, the house was a wreck, and besides that, the radiator and thermostat went out in the van and the dryer broke! Talk about Murphy coming to call. Yet, my husband carried the weight valiantly. I didn’t even know about the broken vehicle and appliances until I got home!

Truly, I don’t know where I would be without him.

When I saw the following video, I cried — tears of joy and thankfulness. It so epitomizes who my husband is. Once the young man with musical aspirations, he’s dug in deep,to love and to lead our family. He is always ready to “take one for the team.” He is most definitely my knight-in-shining-armor. I am so very thankful for the man who once was “Fish” and now is “FishPapa,” my husband, my family man.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Babe!

The song is by Andrew Peterson, one of our favorite authors, singers, and songwriters. If you aren’t familiar with his book series or his music, I highly recommend that you check him out.

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
