My freezer cooking this time ’round is kind of all over the place as I do it in little fits and spurts. It’s been a weird week all around, trying to do school while the rest of the neighborhood has Spring Break. Makes for not very motivated students. Not a wise choice on the teacher’s part, and one I will remember next time. Hubs had a holiday from work in the middle of the week. We had orthodontist appointments. Regardless, progress is being made. Prior to today I was able to prepare croutons, shredded chicken, and a big pot of sauce.
Today I took a few more steps toward a fuller freezer. Well, my kitchen appliances did, anyway. The bread machine churned three batches of Foccacia while the Kitchenaid tackled Crystal’s Butterhorn Rolls. The oven toasted Maple Granola. And then, well, my arms assembled Pancake and Instant Oatmeal mixes. I wonder when they’ll come up with a home appliance for that?
That’s all she wrote for today, though. We’re out of eggs, so I can’t head into Cheesecake and Chocolate Chip Cookies. But, it’s coming. Wait for it.
What’s in YOUR freezer?

I didn’t make much progress today (though its only 1:30 here)…I did get 9 lunch portions of enchilada soup into my freezer, a batch of breadsticks made to cook and freeze tonight, 2.5 dozen PB oatmeal cookies shaped and are freezing right now. Baked pasta and, hopefully, spaghetti sauce will be done later today.
That sounds like a lot to me!
I’m jumping on the freezer day cooking band wagon to, I just have to wait till the 9th.
I can’t wait!
Your site is inspiring – thank you for all of the great ideas, tips and motivation! While I haven’t done a darn thing freezer-cooking wise, I hope to start…tomorrow?! Who knows. But I would like to try making some waffles for freezing in the morning, a double batch of granola during naptime, and I’m going to freeze the extra turkey chili that I’m making for supper tomorrow.
Sounds like a great plan, Holly!
I have a question about the Butterhorn Rolls. They look like something my mom used to make and they make my mouth water
My hubby LOVES crescent rolls with cream cheese in the middle. Do you think I could freeze the rolls with cream cheese inside already? I’m a little worried about it would hold up during the thawing process. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks for the great site!
I had never made these before, so I have no idea. Anybody able to chime in here?
Do you have a pdf of all your recipes? That would be neat. I could print them out and keep them in a notebook… or stuff them into my overflowing recipe box
!
I am working on an ebook like that. But, for the amount of time that it is going to take, I will have to charge a small fee. But, it would include 100s of recipes (some on the blogs, some entirely new). You game?
Ah, you’re slowly talking me into buying a bread machine
