The Solid Rock

People will disappoint you. Plans will not go according to plan. Life will have its bumps in the roads. These words remind me where to stand:

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

  2. Thank you! I look forward to your encouraging words on Sundays.

  3. Our pastor resigned this morning; I’m having a tough time with it. Thank you for the reminder the head of the church is our Rock!

  4. So true! Thanks for the reminder.

  5. Jessika says:

Very timely for me. Thanks, friend.

  6. One of my favorite hymns. I’ll be humming this, the rest of the evening. :)

Thanks for the comment on myblog. I feel special having a celebrity read my blog! ;)

  7. You are absolutely right. Trusting in anything or anyone but Jesus Christ will lead to disappointment! My latest post on my blog is about just that, trusting Him. My 4 year old daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year. Without Him, we would have sank. Instead, we are stronger and closer to Him than ever. Reading those beautiful lyrics to that wonderful hymn reminds me of the trust we can have in Jesus Christ and how He is faithful to us!

  8. Amen.

  9. One of my favorite hymns. ALL other ground is sinking sand! Blessings to you and your family.

  10. Allison says:

I love this hymn too. Our pastor preached last night about the wise man and the foolish man and having our foundation built on Christ the Rock, not on the sinking sand.

  11. One of my favorites- thanks for the reminder! :)

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
