Fall Decorating Ideas

Interior decorating is not my forte. I just don’t see the potential in a decorating item. Long ago I learned that I could, given time and resources, mimic the things that I liked in photos and magazines.

My friend Myra, on the other hand, has style. And the ability to make something from nothing. She’s put together a number of tutorials, too, to help those of us who are less gifted put together beautiful items to display in our homes.

Here are just a few links to get you started thinking on how to season your home this Fall:

Is decorating your thing — or not?

  1. Decorating isn’t really my thing either. I’d rather cook and bake!:-)

  2. I go through decorating “spurts”, but then I don’t think about it again for a while. I really should get out the paint brushes and paint a room or four.

  3. My mom says that a homemaker either cooks or decorates…..it’s true with me. I cook.

  4. Not!! My husband is the decorater. His mother dubbed him “Martha”. I know what I like I just can’t create it myself so it is a good thing he can!

  5. Totally not a decorator.

  6. I love decorating, and especially art and crafts so this post was just what I needed this morning ;)

PS: just finished some Halloween decorations last night that I’ll blog about next week :)

  7. Very pretty, fall and Christmas are my favorite two times to decorate. I love that pretty lantern and the candles you displayed.
    Have a great week!

  8. Thanks for sharing this link, I love decorating and arts and crafts in general! :)

  9. I love to decorate. It takes me FOREVER to figure out how I want a room… if someone were to watch me, they’d think I was nuts! The one thing I don’t like is spending money though. Decorating with frugality is key for me (so I’m going to check out your friends link now!) Thanks,
    Andrea

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
