Attend a Conference Just for Moms

There are conferences and conventions for every profession. But there are few that I know of that address the most noble of professions.

Two years ago I had the opportunity to attend a Mom Heart Conference and it was a wonderfully refreshing time for me as a mom. My friend Jessika and I got to catch up, share girl time, and otherwise recharge in our lives as MOMs.

Then FishBaby was in tow at a mere five months. This year, she’s staying home.

Jessika and I are really looking forward to hanging out and hearing what Sally Clarkson, the keynote speaker has to say to moms like us.

Sally has written a number of books, including one on our Booking It list this year, Dancing with My Father. She is a mother of four and a sweet, humble woman who has ministered to me through her writing for years.

There will be four conferences this year. Perhaps there’s one in your neck of the woods. I recommend checking it out and see if you can swing it.

  1. I think the idea of getting away to re-charge is so essential! Some Mom’s feel like if they ever leave their kids they are doing them ill. I have found over the years, that getting away with some girlfriends sends me home recharged, excited and motivated in my roll as mom & wife. Every year a group of girlfriends (10 of us) take a long weekend away at a beach house. We fellowship, play cards, eat junk, catch up on “just for fun reading”, take in the beautiful Oregon Coast, and spend a lot of time in our jammie pants! What a blessing that time is to us and our families. We get a chance to eat uninterrupted and our hubby’s get quality time to do crazy “Dad stuff” with the kids. It is such a blessing and I look forward to it yearly!

  2. Hey! I just registered for the Raleigh conference! Never been to one before. Very excited! Which one will you be at?

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
