Why Goals are Important
Posted By Jessica Fisher On February 1, 2011 @ 12:00 pm In Big Dreams,Joyful Womanhood | 20 Comments
A month ago, we talked about goal setting and taking a long view of the year and the things that we hope to accomplish.
You might not think that goals are important. You might be fine with how you spend your days — and you’re not really in a hurry to get anywhere.
And that is totally fine. I’m not saying you need to go anywhere or do anything — except articulate some goals.
If you have goals, even just one or two, for who you want to be as a woman, a wife, a mom, a friend, then it will be easier for you not to feel tempted to compare yourself with the Girl Next Door.
If you have a written goal, you will know where YOU are going, and not feel like you have to do what she’s doing .
If you have a goal in mind and are moving toward it, even if it is the goal of doing less , you will be more content with your days and not wonder if you should be doing something else.
Knowing that your goals are not someone else’s should free you to be you — and not try to be her.
You should have a goal.
Share with us one thing that you’re working on — for you.
