June 8, 2011

Ultimate Recipe Swap

I am a salad girl. I’d much rather eat a good salad than almost anything else. Yeah, I’m weird like that. Here are six of my top salads for summer.

Tossed Salad with Peperoncinis and Feta

Buffalo Chicken Salad

Cilantro Couscous Salad

Spring Greens with Pepitas and Cilantro Lime Dressing

Pesto and Feta Pasta Salad with Cranberries

Broccoli Slaw with Pecans and Cranberries

What’s YOUR favorite summer salad?

Link up your post or tell us about your salad in the comments.

Your salads look so yummy. I love salads as well.

My favorite summer salad is fresh Iceberg Wedge with blue cheese dressing, crispy bacon bits and fresh of the vine cherry tomatoes.

Thank you for hosting. I linked up my stuffed French toast and double double cookies

I love to just have a bunch of things available to mix and match. I realized I actually like to add chopped apples to savory salad- they are especially tasty with ranch! But then, what isn’t…:)

No, you’re not weird. You’re sensible. Salads are what our great great great great great great great great great great ancestors ate.

They saw leaves and veggies, ripped them down and put them in their laps. Then started eating them raw.

That salad looks great. I think I may throw one together tonight for dinner, it’s too hot to cook.

This week I shared my sweet dinner rolls recipe. Make them when it’s cooler outside!

That Broccoli Slaw looks amazing! My favorite is cold tortellini salad — hearty yet light!

Those salads look so good! I need to venture out a little when thinking about making salads! LOL! Thanks for the inspiration! :) By the way…do your kids like eating all of them too? That is usually my biggest problem…getting the kids to eat them. :)

I love salads too…green salads, taco salads, and pasta salads. I didn’t have a recipe for any of them, though, so I linked a different fun summer recipe instead!

I love most salads. Greens salads, veggie salads, pasta salads… though, my favorite is that Spinach & Strawberry Salad with pecans and raspberry dressing. I don’t make it myself, but I always hope to see it on the potluck table when we go to picnics.

My daughter made Bacon and Sun-Dried Tomato Penne along with Cherry Fruit Punch today – perfect for the terrifically hot day we’re having! Thanks for hosting the linky party.

I linked up a recipe for a simple salad with honey mustard vinaigrette. Simple works best for me, especially in summer. (And for the record, I don’t think you’re weird at all! I’d also rather eat salad than just about anything else.)

I linked up to one of the easiest & yummiest salads ever. :) Everytime I serve it someone asks for the recipe!

Salads are the best – nutritious and tasty and good-looking too! What more can we ask for? All 6 of your salads look fantastic and I think each would be quite a meal on its own. As for myself, I make sure that my family has at least one salad a day, either as a snack or part of a meal. It’s the only way to get those raw nutrients into our bodies :)

Pepitas? Have to confess I followed the links through and read about them, as I am not familiar with them. With a nut allergy in the house, they sound like a good way to add crunch. Now where do I find them in the Midwest? I’m going to look for them the next time I go shopping. Thanks for broadening my horizons. :)

@Mar H, I’m not sure. Do you have Trader Joe’s? That’s where I buy them.
