Over the last 3 months, I’ve shared 12 ways to save on 12 different areas of life. Call it my “Ode to 2012″.

  1. Since the linky isn’t up yet, I’ll share this great opportunity here: You can get a free audio download of Eric Liddell’s book The Disciplines of the Christian Life for the entire month of August!

  2. Not seeing the linky :(….
Thanks for this great recap list of yours!
    Blessings!

  3. You know, coupons are nice, and stocking up when things are on sale or clearance – also good. However, the BEST way I have found to save money? Stay out of the stores, and away from Amazon (unless I’m using points that I earned by paying my bills).

Seriously – by NOT shopping, or sticking strictly to my list (“I need toilet paper, not 6 items from the dollar section at Target.”), we’ve saved more than we did when I tried to shop sales/use coupons. I buy what we need, when we need it (if I find it on clearance or happen to have a coupon – that’s a bonus), and it has simplified my life.

Also, we’ve started shopping at a different grocery store, buying fresh foods, and eating better meat a little less often. Our grocery store bill has gone up a bit, but we RARELY go out to eat now, because I can make better food at home, so we’re saving money overall. Crazy! :-)

You are so right! Of course. ;)

And I’ve found that by counting calories, I’m wasting less food, too. I want to lick the plate clean. LOL

  4. I agree that the best way to save money is to STAY OUT of stores! I’ve even blogged about that!! :-) Today I wanted to add a recent post on trying out Once a Grocery Month Shopping – in part to keep me out of stores. But I don’t see a linky, so I’ll put the link here: http://www.simplifylivelove.com/2012/08/trying-out-once-a-month-grocery-shopping.html

    Thanks! Have a fabulous weekend.

  5. I definitely agree with staying out of stores! And don’t look at catalogs :-)

I’ll share my post here since the linky isn’t up yet. I wrote about how to save money on fruits and vegetables for canning/freezing for the winter. http://thelocalcook.com/2012/08/08/score-a-great-deal-on-produce-to-put-up/

  6. Thanks for hosting! I posted about 10 Budget Foods We Can’t Live Without!

  7. I have really enjoyed the top 12 lists over the summer. Thanks for hosting!

  8. My biggest frugal tip – stay home. I thought about going to the craft store this week. The reality is I have craft supplies at home to use up. I also didn’t need to drag 4 kids to the store and use gas. We had a better time at home crafting and cooking together in the kitchen.

  9. Thanks for posting – I shared a few ideas on how to provide free (calorie and budget) “treats” for your child’s lunch box! http://behealthybehappywellness.com/blog/2012/08/frugal-friday-fun-free-lunchbox-treats

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
