Be ready for summer days and the summer daze. Brainstorm a list of fun places to go with your kids.
We’ve got a week and a half of school left. Then, I’m ready to switch gears and start our summer routine. We’ve got some fun things planned, including hanging out with our neighbors and getting to know San Diego a little bit better.
I’ve printed out our Summer To Do lists as well as Summer Fun Journals for the kids. Those, in addition to the Summer Survival Guide, will serve us well in the coming months. This morning I sat down with my tweens and planned out a breakfast and lunch schedule.
Having a few plans for summer will help us not drift too far from routine and stability, but still make the most of the vacation time.
As part of the Summer Fun series, I’ll be posting several different printables and projects each week to help you spice up the routine at your house this vacation.
Routine for us means getting out of the house two to three times a week as well as having several veg days to just lie around and read or play games or whatever…. We save weekends to spend with Papa, usually with one outing and one day of projects.
And somedays, I’m just stumped for a new and creative plan.
Today print off a checklist of fun places to go. There are two pages: one pre-filled and an empty one. You can use mine to get you going or start generating ideas with your kids on the fillable page.
If you have a list of places you know you want to explore, you’ll have a back-up plan whenever you need one. No more “what should we do today?”
Where will YOU go this summer?
This post is part of the DIY on a Dime: Summer Fun series. For more ideas on how to enjoy the summer holidays on a budget, check out the list.
I know what we’re gonna do this summer.
