June’s Good Cheap Eats

Need some good cheap eats? I gotcha covered.

I have no idea how it happened. But, July is here. Say what? It’s been a whirlwind of a summer so far. We’ve made two road trips, done the beach a few times, and worked at doing more cooperative kitchen work.

That means kids are cooking, papas and mamas are cooking. Everybody’s eating great food. I post a lot of those good cheap eats over on my food blog. If you don’t already follow it, you should. Go here to sign up for free email updates.

Coming up this summer:

The Summertime Pantry Challenge starts next week! For two weeks, we’ll be focusing on eating down the pantry and using up what we’ve got. I’m not sure that we’ll save hundreds of dollars, but I am hoping less will go to waste.

So, that’s the month at Good Cheap Eats. Here’s to eating well, acting our wage, and enjoying life! You can subscribe to GCE in a reader or via email updates.

  1. Our fridge/freezer is fairly bare, since we ate everything we could before we left on vacation. Our pantry, however, is decently stocked. This will be a tight month for us, so I will supplement our pantry with some fresh veg/fruits and a little protein as required…

  2. I’m wondering where June went too! We’re in the dregs of summer here. 109 today, 115 predicted for tomorrow. 115 people!!! We’re taking advantage of Costco rotisserie chicken, salads and the grill for the next few days. We’ll be eating down the freezer and pantry for the next few weeks. I’m really excited about what’s in the ah delivery this week. What can be better than grilled jumbo hot dogs, corn on the cob, watermelon and sliced tomatoes on the 4th of July?! (yep, it’ll still be hotter than a firecracker here)

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
