Make Birthdays Special

Make Birthdays Special

Birthdays are a big deal around here. And rightly so. What a beautiful blessing a life is! I’m so thrilled to celebrate each of my children’s milestones, especially when I remember how very precious each one of them is.

Celebrating a child’s birthday is a chance to remember what it is to be young again.

  1. FYI, the link for Tips for Attending Birthday Parties does not appear to be working.

  2. So cute and fun! We just celebrated for my six-year-old son this past weekend. In order to make it fun, yet child and adult appropriate, we watched created a giant pile of pillows and blankets on the floor of our living room and had a “midday pajama party”. Birthday boy’s movie pick was The Nightmare Before Christmas, and we made cupcakes and iced them to (sorta) look like Jack, Sally, and Zero. We had the party for twelve, had pizza at twelve thirty (and offered a healthier option of salad for anyone who needed/wanted it), and then we did the ice cream and cupcakes after the movie was finished. It was wonderful!

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
