Pack Real Food Lunches for School

As you know, I’ve renewed my mission this month to improve my family’s diet . The excess of the holidays and that icky-blah feeling were just the nudge I needed. Last year I lived sugar-free for 30 days and lived to tell the tale. It was a good thing and helped jump-start my own personal journey toward reducing the processed sugars in my life.
(I gave up sodas a few years ago, but it’s a two steps forward one step back kind of thing.)
I’ve been doing some more food reading (more on that later) and the pantry challenge is helping us clean out the junk. My plan for restocking is to focus on real food. Remember my goals for our diet ? Hopefully, you’ve identified some improvements you want to see in your home.
Yesterday I presented a few ways to make eating at home a little easier . Today I want to share with you a great little guide to help you pack healthier lunches.
While I don’t send my kids off to school every day, I do know the value of making lunches in advance . However, if I had to pack six lunches every day and send them out the door? Well, that just might break me. My hat is off to you mamas who pack lunches every day!
That’s why I’m so excited about this new ebook brought to you by the folks at 100 Days of Real Food . The booklet, entitled Real Lunches Real Easy contains 6 weekly meal plans, grocery lists, and recipes for packing great-tasting, healthy lunches for your kids.
I zipped through the book in about an hour. It includes very doable plans and a simple, no-fuss approach to making school lunches healthy as well as fun. I can’t wait to try out some of the recipes for our snacks and make-ahead homeschool lunches.
My kids aren’t quite sure what to make our my food improvement plans, but I intend to make our meals just as tasty so they won’t know what hit them!
I love Kiran’s reminder to include kids in the process. I have witnessed it so many times before: if I let my peeps choose whatever they want from the produce department, they choose some great things. And they’re so much happier than buying chips or candy!
The booklet, Real Lunches Real Easy , is designed to be used over and over again. With six weeks of different menus, your kids would only have the same thing SIX TIMES all school year. That promises to provide a lot of variety throughout the seasons — plus you don’t have to dream up new lunch ideas. It’s already done for you!
The book is $9 and will only be available for 2 weeks. So, get it while you can.
