Giving gifts can often be just as fun as getting them. In fact, I’ve found that when I take the attention off myself and try to bless other people, that the whole season is lots more enjoyable.
Yesterday I shared five frugal gift ideas that I have made for friends and family over the years. From now until December 24, we’ll be sharing frugal ideas for gift giving.
DIY Coupon Book Instructions
Making your own coupon book is a great way to give a custom gift. It can be as extravagant or as budget-friendly as you like. You only need a few paper craft supplies and a list of activities you want to gift.
It takes just minutes and a few household ingredients to mix up a batch of Lavender Milk Bath. Perfect for relaxing or giving as a gift, this homemade milk bath is super frugal and a great way to DIY on a dime.
Writing a letter to your child can be a unique way to express your love and affection. While they might not “get it” now, it can be a good communication tool over time. In the last month, I’ve been struck at how quickly time is passing. I looked at these ornaments again and got teary…
Let no one be bored or sad on Thanksgiving Day! Make your young guests feel special by planning some Thanksgiving activities for kids. You don’t need to do much, but if things feel a bit awkward for the kiddos, pull out a few tricks to help break the ice. Whether you’re doing all the turkey things, like…
There is so much to do at the holidays. And unless you have a list and check it twice, you may find yourself scrambling in the final hour. Scrambling does not promote peace and harmony. And while Christmas is, indeed, five months away, sometimes it serves us well to plan ahead. The lazier days of…
Plan now for a great holiday season. With a little planning and forethought, it can be a simpler season full of great joy. The holiday season will be quickly upon us. With Halloween in less than two weeks, I know that Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years will practically spring themselves on us. If I don’t…
About four years ago my husband was diagnosed with a bulging disk. I was pregnant with FishChick at the time, and it was a scary time watching him practically paralysed with pain. Thankfully, treatment, time, and exercise put him back in the swing of things. And he’s had a respite from debilitating pain for about three…
Baking and decorating Jesus Cookies is one of my kids’ most favorite things to do every year. Jesus Cookies are a highlight of Christmas for my kids. My mom bought us a Nativity Bake Set about ten years ago, and it seriously has been one of the best parts of our holidays — every year….
After I read your post on pampering yourself at Thanksgiving, I decided to give a “spa gift basket” to my sister-in-law and maybe some others in the family. I have recently stumbled upon someone in my town who makes soaps, lotions, lip balms, and more. I love her products. They are pricier than if I bought something generic at Wal-Mart, so I can’t get her much. But in a nice basket, those few things are going to look great. Plus there are the many weeks of nasty ingredient-free cleansing and moisturizing that she will get.
Thanks for sharing a great list of ideas! Good inspiration!

Sounds like a great gift idea!
