  1. You know, coupons are nice, and stocking up when things are on sale or clearance – also good. However, the BEST way I have found to save money? Stay out of the stores, and away from Amazon (unless I’m using points that I earned by paying my bills).

Seriously – by NOT shopping, or sticking strictly to my list (“I need toilet paper, not 6 items from the dollar section at Target.”), we’ve saved more than we did when I tried to shop sales/use coupons. I buy what we need, when we need it (if I find it on clearance or happen to have a coupon – that’s a bonus), and it has simplified my life.

Also, we’ve started shopping at a different grocery store, buying fresh foods, and eating better meat a little less often. Our grocery store bill has gone up a bit, but we RARELY go out to eat now, because I can make better food at home, so we’re saving money overall. Crazy! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. You are so right! Of course. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And I’ve found that by counting calories, I’m wasting less food, too. I want to lick the plate clean. LOL

  2. My biggest frugal tip – stay home. I thought about going to the craft store this week. The reality is I have craft supplies at home to use up. I also didn’t need to drag 4 kids to the store and use gas. We had a better time at home crafting and cooking together in the kitchen.
