Are you ready for summer?

The weather’s warming up and as I told you yesterday, it pays to be prepared. In order to save money and make great memories with your peeps, preparation is the key. And having food and fun at the ready is one of the things I love to have.

In fact, one of my adventure bags includes this great picnic basket that V-8 sent us last week. It is a fantastic basket, insulated to keep food cold or hot AND it folds flat for storage. (Can I get an Amen on that one?)

As if that isn’t cool enough, it’s filled with all sorts of goodies: beach blankets, a frisbee, a healthy eating cookbook, as well as V-8 V-Fusion, now available in 6 packs!

Each 8-ounce can provides a full serving of vegetablesΒ and a full serving of fruit along with essential vitamins A, C and E, making for a perfect addition to lunchboxes, gym bags or briefcases – really any on-the-go occasion – like a picnic at the beach!

Our kids absolutely loved V8 V-Fusion when we got to try it last year. I’m so excited about its new portable packaging. This will makes fun treats at the beach so much easier.

Want to win a beach basket like this one?

I’ve got one basket up for grabs today. Leave a comment, telling us your favorite beach in the whole wide world.

Contest will be open until Sunday, April 25th at 8 pm, PST. Winner to be chosen at random and announced next week.

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations, danyellehutton@

Disclosure: Our family received the basket pictured to review. I was not compensated to share my opinion. The statements above have not been influenced in any way.

  216. My favorite beach is one in Fortaleza, Brasil where I grew up. It is a remote beach that has some cabins there. We used to go there for weekend get-aways or holidays. I loved laying in a hammock on the porch and listening to the sound of waves crashing. Nothing more soothing!

  217. The beaches of Bermuda are so beautiful!

  218. Kim in AZ says:

Our favorite beach is Imperial Beach in CA – simply because it is the one we always visit out of family tradition. Many years of my hubby’s family visiting the same shores make it our family stop now. Hubby has also visited Baja peninsula and loves many of the beaches there! 223. Anna Maria Island, FL!!!

  224. No idea what it’s called, but our favorite beach was a beach on the north side of Kauai, a so-called baby beach because the surf was more gentle. My daughter played in the waves and we snorkled and saw tons of amazing fish.

  234. I haven’t been to any exotic beaches, but I will always love Huntington Beach more than any other. I grew up 30 miles from there and it was THE place to be on the weekends in high school. It was far enough away to be considered a road trip but close enough that it was also a day trip that a bunch of kids could take without their parents tagging along. Also, it’s where my husband and I took our honeymoon, so it’s even more special to me. <3

  236. Pensacola Beach…love the white sand!

  243. The Gulf Coast of Florida — fine sand and lots of shells!

  244. Danielle Sullivan says:

Orange Beach, AL! Sandy white beaches, family friendly and near an outlet mall in Foley! Love it!

  263. What feels like a million years ago, I went on a cruise to Nassau and made a day trip to Atlantis. This was by far the most beautiful resort and it was right on the most amazing beach. I dream about it from time to time – in between diaper changes, cleaning crayon off the walls and removing spit-up from my hair!

  264. This may sound boring compare to FL or another warmer climate but in WI we live minutes away from Lake Michigan. My sons and I can go there all day or for an hour after school before dinner. We have 2 XL mason jars full of sea glass which has now become a tradition for us.

  275. I’d have to say Port Aransas would be my fave beach just b/c of the family memories attached to it. It’s no white sand, clear water beach but it holds a lot of fond memories for me so it’s #1 on my list. 287. North Shore, Oahu!

Beautiful beach plus access to garlic shrimp trucks and shaved ice, yum!

  298. Corolla Beach, North Carolina

  299. My family’s favorite beach is West Palm Beach in Florida. I like it because the beach is clean and afterwards when we are all full of sand, there are showers to use on the way to the parking lot so our van doesn’t get full of sand and when we get home, we don’t have to rinse off before going in the swimming pool.

  300. My favorite beach is just down the road–South Padre Island, Texas

  301. Christina says:

    Bodega Bay in CA

  302. Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, California – we LOVE it here and go every Sunday with a picnic dinner. We get there around 2pm, fight an hour to find a parking spot, and then hang out on the beach until after the sun sets and the tide comes in. It’s so much fun! πŸ™‚

  338. Really, I love any ocean beach and would love to be at any one of them at any given moment. Locally, I love La Jolla – so many wonderful memories of growing up there. More, exotically, I loved the 7 mile beach on grand cayman.

Granny’s shrimp fritters and Grandpa’s seafood gumbo were awesome. 423. I grew up in NJ and now live in GA. The Atlantic City boardwalk/ocean will always be my favorite because it holds so many memories of going there when I was a child. I’ve taken my own son and he loved it just as much – rode bikes up and down the boardwalk, got pizza on the boardwalk, played in the ocean, etc.

  453. Julie Craig says:

I recently returned to my favourite beach with my two girls.(Holywood Seafront, Northern Ireland) It is full of shingle and shells and matted with seaweed in parts, but it is the first beach I ever remember going to. It’s where, despite frigid water temperatures and cloudy days, my mum let me paddle with trousers rolled up and dig and splash to my hearts content. Where my grandpa had the responsibility of setting up the windbreaker so each and every sandwich from the picnic wasn’t inedible and where I fell in love with my better half as we held hands on long walks along the shore. Sometimes it’s just about the memories. Too bad Maryland is not a little closer!
