Great Fish & Seafood Dishes (Ultimate Recipe Swap)

As the years have gone by, I’ve tasted different fish prepared in different ways. I’ve learned that fish is really good for you. And I love a trip to Harbor Fish and Chips. Yum!

My mother-in-law was allergic to most fish and seafood. So, my husband didn’t eat much as a child. But, he became a huge fish fan as an adult.

(And yes, it is a little weird that his name is also Fisher. In high school, his nickname was, you guessed it, Fish.)

When my mother was pregnant with me, she ate a Fillet O’Fish sandwich every week. I, unlike my husband, developed a laissez-faire attitude about the creatures of the sea. I could take them or leave them. Much to the chagrin of my family who would like fish a lot more frequently than I serve it.

But, as the years have gone by, I’ve tasted different fish prepared in different ways. I’ve learned that fish is really good for you. And I love a trip to Harbor Fish and Chips. Yum!

At the urging of my editor I also developed several freezer-friendly fish dishes to go in my cookbook. So, you could say I’m coming around.

  1. Thanks for hosting! This teriyaki mahi mahi recipe is great even for people who don’t like fish. Mahi mahi has a firm texture, and the mango salsa is out of this world.

  2. This was a difficult one. We eat a fish dish at least once a week. I picked the most recent fish dish I have prepared. We eat a lot of salmon, tilapia, and flounder. I do get cod when it’s on sale at Costco and make homemade fishsticks with it.

  4. I cook fish about once every 2 weeks. I might make it more in the summer, because I like to grill fish. I linked up Grilled Chili Lime Shrimp. It scored 2 thumbs up with the family, even my picky 4 year old! Thanks for the linky.

  5. My husband is a big texture guy, so while I’m still working on him eating fish, I cook it at least once a month so the kids have exposure. I’m linking up lemon caper tilapia. Cooked in a matter of minutes and tastes out of this world!

    The kids and I love fish and we are working on getting Daddy to at least tolerate it! I make shrimp once a month and other types of fish once or twice a month. I’d love to do more cooking with fish, but hubby requires that it is cooked fresh and I have to make a lot of my meals ahead of time. I’ll check out some of these ideas!

    By the way, what’s the recipe at the top of the page? The one with the corn & pepper salad and roasted potatoes? That looks good!

      I think that was just a night where we did a simple seasoning of oil, salt, pepper, and garlic. Sometimes simple is best. Just don’t forget the lemon.
