Inside Out Turkey Cheeseburgers Life as Mom

Looking at the calendar this week, I’m stunned to find out that the 4th of July holiday is already here. The 4th is one of my favorites because there are so few expectations other than eating good food and finding a good spot to watch the fireworks. And if the good food is cooked out of doors on the grill, so much the better!

This summer I’m really digging simple recipes that are easy to mix up and affordable for our budget. We’ve got 8 perpetually-hungry mouths to feed over here, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a huge variety of creative recipes in the Stop & Shop Savory Recipe Center. What a treasure trove of good ideas!

It was so hard to choose just one because really? New York Pizza Burger? The Northwest Burger with salmon and feta cheese? Philly Cheesesteak Burger? The Midwestern Farm Burger has bacon, eggs, and a seasoned cream cheese. They all sound so easy and delicious — just as a good burger should!

Inside-Out Turkey Cheeseburgers

One of my favorite recent finds is this recipe for Inside-Out Turkey Cheeseburgers. I love an excuse to use fresh mozzarella. It’s so weird and fun. Yum! I picked up a package of the “pearl”-size mozzarella which made this recipe even easier to prepare. No chopping necessary, the recipe came together in about five minutes, plus cook time. While the burgers cooked, I was able to pull together a quick veggie tray and toast the buns.

Dinner couldn’t have been simpler!

I really love to make turkey burgers. Not only is the meat super affordable, but it helps me feel just a little bit healthier. Slowly but surely, my people are embracing the turkey burger, especially these.

My family really enjoyed these Inside-Out Turkey Cheeseburgers. FishPapa commented that the Dijon and Worcestershire sauce really enhanced the flavor of the turkey, bringing a meatier flavor to the dish. The boys gobbled their burgers down in a matter of seconds!

Prep tip –> If you can, try to encapsulate the cheese with the meat mixture so that there’s a little barrier between the cheese and your hot grill. You really want to enjoy those luscious bits of cheese instead of them dripping onto the flames.

Now is a great time to plan out all your summer grilling. You’ll find great sales on grilling ingredients, so stock up for cooking out all summer long. I love to stash extra packs of ground meats, sausages, and other grilling cuts in the freezer as well as load up on a few extra bottles of condiments. Then we can grill whenever we have a mind to.

With these all creative burger recipes to try out, I don’t think we could ever get bored!
