Each of us wears a number of different hats; woman, wife, mother, homemaker, educator, daughter, employee, cook, chauffeur, counselor — just to name a few possibilities. Whether you work in or out of the home, you are responsible for managing much.

Perhaps you’ve wondered how to

  • plan meals that are health- or budget-conscious
  • juggle schedules
  • get your house clean and organized
  • enjoy, entertain, and educate your children
  • establish daily routines
  • enjoy time alone with your hubby
  • have a moment to yourself
  • and stay sane!

That is one tough bill to fill. One of my goals is to determine how to balance my different responsibilities in a way that most blesses my family and brings glory to God. How can I be a good mom and enjoy the entire process? That’s what I’m exploring here on this blog. I hope you’ll join me on the Road to Joyful Motherhood.

Because no one wants a crabby mom.

  1. Thanks so much for writing this blog. What a wonderful idea. You might think it’s strange, but my wife is having some challenges just like I’ve been reading on here… from time for herself, for time together… and also body issues. This is my way of getting out there and learning about her point of view. We got invited to some Cains Foods Tossed Salad party and I didn’t want to go. Have you ever heard of that by the way? I went to their site ( and didn’t find anything about it. Anyways, we got an invite from my wife’s best friend saying that when your life gets tossed around, just add something tasty to it?? Guys aren’t used to responding well to things like that, but I’m going to try and give it a shot. It’s bad enough when there are jewelry parties etc. etc… anyways, thanks for getting these thoughts out there. Keep it going and I’ll check back often. We’re making our own valentine’s day cards tomorrow with my niece and new little girl. Should be fun. I’ll figure it out. Talk soon.

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
