Meal Planning with The Fresh 20 (A Giveaway)

One of the things that we’ve already determined about new moms is that they need help in adjusting to a new baby and a new season of life. They also like to know that meal time is going to happen everyday.

Oh my! I remember how ravenous I was in those early weeks!

A new mom can help herself out by planning easy meals during the postpartum phase. Or she can get help from:

The Fresh 20 is one such meal planning service. Subscribers receive a weekly email that has everything laid out in orderly fashion, including:

  • A week’s menu of five meals
  • A complete grocery list
  • Recipes for the week’s meals
  • And quick tips to make cooking easier.

One of the features of this meal planning service is that the meals feature mostly fresh ingredients, with just a few pantry staples like spices, sugar, or oil. And, your fresh ingredients list is limited to 20, making shopping easier and more economical because you may be buying in bulk.

If you’re looking to increase the freshness of your family’s meals without going through a lot of mental gymnastics, The Fresh 20 is worth a try. The recipes will certainly please even picky eaters, without resorting to canned cream soups or refrigerated dough. And there’s a cost estimate to each week’s meal plan for ease of budgeting.

This week two LifeasMOM readers will each receive an annual membership to The Fresh 20.

My favorite food to eat while nursing was blueberry muffins. I’d make six super-large ones every night and invariably eat the all the next day. Soooo yummy.

  2. I would love to get subscription. I use excel sheet and it is not the best tool but I have survived.
Look forward to know the result of this one…

  16. I “like” you on Facebook!

  23. My favorite immediately postpartum nursing snack is graham crackers and a tall glass of milk!

  24. Annette Holbrook says:

This sounds good, especially since the foods I crave during this pregnancy are fresh foods. A snack is eating a cucumber or tomato or some fruit, I normally like junk food but that doesn’t appeal at all to me right now.

  26. Fresh fruit and veggies always taste good!

  31. I love hummus and pita chips! 🙂

  32. I really craved fried potatoes and onions!

It is such a refreshing meal, served over lettuce, beans (I like kidney or pinto), tomatoes, avocado, onion, cilantro, and cheese. It can be made with whatever ingredients you personally like, and then I would top it with either salsa or a ranch dressing (acting like sour cream). It’s so quick to throw together, too. Yum!

During my first pregnancy I couldn’t get enough fresh pineapple!

  35. Stephanie Sample says:

    I “liked” both on Facebook

  42. During my pregnancy, I loved zucchini squash (grilled or roasted, but with olive oil and sea salt) as well as hamburger. I would make small patties so they would get all crispy on the outside too, but not take forever to cook.

Sarah will be two weeks old on Monday, so I’m still getting my nursing groove together. 84. I have never been pregnant or nursing, but I know that having a regular meal plan can certainly save time! And I’d like to try out this service 🙂 But here’s a tip: buy “manager’s special” meat.
