SupportMilSpouseBlogs While neither my husband nor I have ever served in the military, we have tremendous respect and appreciation for those who do and the families who support them.

I know that “life as MOM” can be challenging, particularly if my husband works late hours or on weekends. I cannot imagine what it must be like when Dad or Mom has to leave for months at a time on deployments or for the family to be moved around the world without much choice in the matter.

Military moms and dads, I salute you! Thank you for what you do to protect my family’s freedoms.

As you know, the blogosphere and the greater world wide web make the world feel smaller. We can connect with people miles and miles away with a few clicks of a mouse. And what better “virtual penpals” to cultivate than Military Spouse Bloggers?

Support Military Spouses

Army wife AnnMarie has created an online community for us to connect with one another. We all have laundry to fold, meals to prepare, and families to care for. Military spouses, however, have a few extra challenges and wrinkles thrown in. As those who benefit from their service, we can reach out and offer a thank you, a prayer, and a warm hand of friendship.

Pop over to the Military Spouse Blogging Community and meet some new people. You will be amazed at the variety of blogs and families to connect with. There are also bloggers representing countries other than the US, including Australia, the UK, and the French Foreign Legion.

And if you’re a military spouse, you can easily add your link. The more the merrier.

Thanks so much for this! As a military wife and mom I am always looking for ways to connect with others!

  2. I am heading over there now. I am a preschool teacher and there are a lot of children whose mom or dad (or even both) has been deployed. I will definitely keep all of them in my thoughts and prayers.

  3. thank you for sharing this! I’m a military spouse and my husband is currently deployed for the first time since we have been together and I could really use some support!

    • @Crystal,
If you need anything, please let me know! My email is on my website. I’ve been through three deployments, so if I can help in any way, please contact me!

  4. We’ve just finished with our third deployment (second without me, as we deployed together in 2003). My hubby and I met while we were both active-duty Army, and then served together in the National Guard. He is still serving in the National Guard, I’m now on the home front with our 5 year old son. I truly appreciate your support, and love this link! I’m heading over there next!

  5. Wow, cool! Thanks so much for sharing! I added myself and FBed because like, all of my friends are military (mostly Army) wives.

  6. Thank you for posting AnnMarie’s new community. I am already a member and know that the more support I can garner the better off, not only I will be but so will my family.

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
