Gel Pro Mat: Wicker in Cork

Recently, I was sent a GelPro Mat to test out in our kitchen. I had heard about these mats in the past, but had never seen one and I’d certainly never stood on one before. If I had, well, let’s just say, my feet have found new life in them.

As a busy mom, I spend a lot of time on my feet. And while I know a good pair of shoes would help me out, I prefer to go barefoot. Not the best choice when you stand on hard floors for several hours a day. But, I’ve worked in grocery stores, in commerical kitchens, in restaurants and in schools, so I’m no stranger to standing.

However, when we received this mat, I was amazed. FishBoy9 asked if he could sleep on it. I concur, I, too, would love a queen-size of this mat. It’s extremely cushy and comfortable. I don’t know its long-term benefits, but I moved it around my kitchen during freezer cooking days and I do think it made a difference in how I felt.

According to GelPro, their product is the

world’s original gel-filled anti-fatigue floor mat reduces discomfort caused from standing on hard flooring. Great for everyone, perfect for those with back pain, foot pain or arthritis.

Currently, GelPro is offering 15% off all designer and standard mats (excluding the 18”x24” Spot Mat) from now until the 9th of May. Simply enter the promotional code BGMD19 at checkout to receive the discount. While it may not get there before Mother’s Day, it would still make a great gift.

(In our family, we usually print a picture of the gift-yet-to-arrive and include it in the gift card with a note of its promised arrival. It’s almost as good as the real thing.)

Win a GelPro Mat!

In addition to a great discount, GelPro is also providing a free gel mat to one LifeasMOM reader. Simply leave a comment, telling us what you do to ease your aching feet.

Giveaway will be open until Sunday, May 9th at 8 pm, PST. Winner to be chosen at random.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary mat to review, however I was not compensated to post my opinions or the giveaway. My opinions are my own.

Later today: Last week’s giveaway winners and another giveaway.

  1. When I have to be on my feet for long periods of time, I make sure I’m wearing my good shoes with arch supports in them. It really does make a huge difference.

  2. I love to get pedicures!

  3. Rebecca says:

My feet are sore every night! I think I wear flip flops too much. I usually rub them with foot cream and let it soak in while I’m sleeping.

  4. I soak my feet in Epsom salts or beg hubs for a foot rub on a regular basis!

  5. If a pedicure is not in the budget, I trade foot rubs with my hubby 🙂

  6. Soak in a hot tub!! I love for someone to rub them…but that hasn’t happened in a while! HA

  7. definatly a pedicure – asking for footrubs doesnt do any good!!

  8. The best thing I do for my aching feet is to wear shoes that do not make them ache more! So many people are worried more about fashion. I rarely wear heals and I make sure I buy my shoes wide enough!

The second thing I do is a hot soak in a tub. Not only is this great for my feet after a long day teaching seventh graders, but it is great for my soul! Bubbles, a book, and once in a while, a wine!

  9. To ease my feet, I try to keep them propped up whenever I am sitting.

  10. Especially when preggo – my hubby doesn’t mind giving footrubs – and he does an awesome job!

  11. I wear Dansko shoes when working (as a nurse so on my feet a lot!)

  12. Diane G says:

I give myself footrubs. And if really hurting, a Epsom salt soak helps too.

  13. elizabeth says:

I like my Crocs; they seem to help my feet. They feel cushion-ier that my flip flops. 🙂

  14. I live in my crocs. I resisted them for so long but finally tried some on a few years ago and now I can’t give up the comfort. They are like slippers for me, only way better. (Oh, and all those mat options are lovely! )

  15. Samantha says:

A quick foot rub and then I put them up.

  16. I use the gel insoles in my shoes. I’m gellin’!!

  17. I wear Dansko shoes–the only way I can stand all day!

  18. The best I’ve come up with is sitting down and putting my aching feet up. They are the worst when I’ve exercised early then worked in the kitchen all day…

  19. I love to soak my feet in hot water with good smelling oils in the water. Very relaxing.

  20. I just try to put them up when I sit down. No foot rubbers in this house 🙁 I would really love to win a GelPro mat…it seems like I am standing at the kitchen sink doing dishes all day!

  21. I soak my feet and sand the callus off if they are really bothering me

  22. I usually end up slipping on a pair of Crocs, and then get bombarded by my 3 year old asking me why I’m wearing shoes in the house!

  23. When I have a long day on my feet in the kitchen, I always wear my running shoes for extra support. This mat would be wonderful!!

  24. Pedicures are the best but when that doesn’t happen a spa treatment at home is the next best thing.

  25. Kristin S says:

I have more of an aching back than feet but a good foot or back rub from my hubby are always welcome!

  26. I sometimes soak my feet in a vibrating foot bath, and sometimes just stuff them in a vibrating / heating fuzzy foot warmer.

  27. I don’t do anything…I try to get kids to rub them; that rarely works. I went to buy some of these: but they didn’t have my size. 🙁 I would LOVE to have one of these…but where would I put it? In front of the sink, at the counter, or the stove? Hmmm

  28. Alyson M says:

Pedicures, slippers, and comfy socks all the while putting my feet up!

  29. I soooo need this when canning season arrives!
I beg my husband to rub my feet!

I beg, whine and plead until my husband gives in and rubs them for me!

  32. theresa says:

I have my husband rub them:-)

  33. mimi1214 says:

I get off of them – that’s what I do for ache feet! Oh, how I’ve wanted one of those gel mats – it’s on my wish list at home!

  34. ooooh, ooooh, ooooh… i have wanted one of these! i would love to win : )

i like burt’s bees foot cream to soothe my tired feet.

  35. I love to take a nice long bath after a long day!

  36. In all seriousness, a walk outside in the grass does wonders for my achey feet. And the fresh air and birdsongs does wonders for the rest of me!

  37. Michele says:

I have a tile floor and would love to try one of these.

  38. I try to wear good shoes with lots of support like Danskos. If not, I just rest on the couch with my feet up after work.

  39. Melissa says:

I love to get a foot rub from my husband.

  40. Andrea Watts says:

I have my husband rub my feet!

I wear a good pair of shoes, and put my feet up at the end of the day.

  42. I like to take a nice hot bath to soothe my aching feet!

  43. My mom likes to make elaborate cakes so she got one of these to put in her kitchen while she decorates them. She LOVES it and I am a little on the envious side!lol I guess the best I can do is wear my clarks when my feet start to hurt but I prefer wearing flipflops which DO NOT help!hehe

  44. When my feet are sore I just prop them up and let them hang out!

  45. I take a bath, slather my feet in a thick lotion slide, on my socks and reap the rewards of having soft feet!

  46. Rebecca says:

Well I used to love to go for pedicures all the time but now that i am a stay at home mommy it just isn;t practical. I have learned how to give myself a great pedicure and taught my husband how to do some reflexology…of course i reciprocate and do it for him too!! Lots of fun and it helps my poor achy feet:)

  47. I live in my Dansko clogs.

  48. I love to get pedicures because of the foot and leg massage! I work on my feet at a local high school, but try to elevate my legs when possible. I really could use a GelPro mat at work!!

  49. I so need one of these! With all my time in the kitchen, I just have to take a break and sit down every once in awhile. And I look forward to when the daycare kids are gone and dinner is done for my evening shower. It SOOOOOO relaxes me! Even the feet. Anyways, this would be awesome under my feet, I’ve tried things but they just don’t work or they slip and slide. Thanks!

  50. I want one of these mats so bad! I was just looking at them in Bed Bath and Beyond. I find that I really need to have something on my feet while I work in the kitchen, even if it’s just a pair of flip flops. I don’t really like people touching my feet, so no massages or pedicures here!

  51. Michelle says:

Not frugal, but I loves me a pedicure in the summer!

  52. I try to wear really supportive shoes as much as I can. I’ve been wanting a nice mat like that one for a long time!

  53. This sounds great! Thanks for the giveaway!

  54. I love to get a pedicure with a girlfriend and just take the time to relax and enjoy the company!!

  55. Julie Gillen says:

Usually just sit down and relax to give the feet a rest!

  56. If I am going to be in the kitchen for a longer period of time (ie more than 2 hours at time), I wear shoes. I find this helps my feet (and my back). After a long day, I will rub peppermint cream on the feet — it relaxes the muscles o so well.
Occassionally (ie once a summer), I treat myself to a pedicure at the local esthetics school — not only do they do a great job, but the price is about 1/4 of what is charged elsewear.

  57. What I do to my aching feet is simply get off of them 🙂 when I can!

  58. Kimberly says:

I soak my feet in warm water. Too bad I don’t get to do this very often!! LOL

  59. Melissa says:

I have really flat feet, so I have prescription insoles. They help a bunch with foot pain. I bet this mat would help even more!

  60. I have a rug by the sink where I stand to do dishes…but not one near as nice as this one! fun giveaway!

  61. Ashley S says:

I try to get the hubby to give me a foot rub (key word being try) 🙁

  62. Like you, I like to go barefoot in the house, so there are times when my feet really hurt. The only thing I can come up with is to sit down and put my feet up when they hurt. Thankfully, I have a nursing baby now, so I get to sit down a lot!

  63. Like so many other moms, I beg my family to rub my feet!

  64. I have an addiction of popping my toes, and I know it is in my mind, but that always makes my feet feel better.

  65. Pedi’s – foot massage

  66. I wear flip flops inside…bare feet are more comfortable, but this helps me not get tired arches!

  67. I try not to go barefoot anymore and try to wear tennis shoes whenever possible.

  68. To ease my aching feet, I put them up when I get home for work or put on stress relieving lotion!

  69. Definitely a foot rub from the hubster! 🙂

  70. I love to get pedicures to help my aching feet, but that is a rare occurrance for this momma.

  71. I bribe my girls to rub my feet….but it never lasts long. These mats are really neat. I have not heard of these before. I would definitely be using it all around the house.

  72. The best way to relieve my aching feet is to get off of them! Ha! You can probably guess how often that happens. 🙂

  73. Being pregnant, I can usually get my wonderful hubby to rub them for me! That always helps, especially as the swollen ankles are making their lovely appearance!

  74. I’ve been eyeing this for a while. I love pedicures, but since I can’t get them everyday 🙂 I usually just prop my feet up and read a book.

  75. I would love this mat! While my family usually helps with the kitchen clean up, I seem to linger in the kitchen, so I spend a lot of time there and could use a break on my feet and back.

  76. Tara LaPierre says:

Pedicure! I would love one of these to help my aching back when I do the dishes!!

  77. If they are aching.. I like to rub them up with some nice smelling lotion… Once in a while a nice pedicure!

  78. Cynthia Crowell says:

I try to wear comfortable shoes instead of non-supportive shoes when I work around the house.

  79. I either beg my hubby for a foot rub (doesn’t always work!) or put my feet up while I spend some time in a comfy chair with a good book.

  80. Tara Jo says:

a nice footrub from my husband

  81. Deborah K. says:

I try to be consistent about wearing tennis shoes at home most of the time… even in the summer. It really helps. My mom has ALWAYS had a mat in front of the sink and stove. I would love to be able to give her one like this!!!

  82. Dansko shoes are my friend. They are what I wear most often when planning a long day of traipsing around.

  83. A foot rub from hubby!

  84. Melissa Smith says:

I take a bath and rub my feet with foot lotion….every now and then I will talk my husband into a good foot rub! 🙂

  85. A nice warm bath!

  86. Adrienne says:

I spend most of my time barefoot as well even though I know it isn’t the best idea. When my feet get sore I try to lay on the couch and put my feet up. A luxury I never appreciated until i became a mom.

  87. Maureen (suburban prep) says:

With DVT and Plantar Fasciitis I have feet that hurt almost all the time.
What helps me is some heel stretches and also rolling tennis balls under my feet as I am sitting. I also use an orthotic in some of my shoes. I love wearing wooden soled clogs as well.

  88. I love a good soak in hot water with epsom salts, and bartering foot rubs with my hubby! 🙂

  89. A good foot rub from my other half is a pretty darn good cure for achey feet. Good thing that he’s usually willing to help me out!

  90. Michele says:

I put my feet up and spend a few minutes reading from a good book. I usually lather up my feet with lotion and put on a cool pair of cotton socks. Pedicures are awesome, but I no longer have the time!

  91. Susan Whitmer says:

I have problems with my feet swelling all the time. The only thing that helps me is putting them up, but that doesn’t happen too often!

  92. Definitely a good soak with some peppermint and epsom salts helps a ton. Then again, so does a good foot rub.

  93. Melissa says:

My husband gives me foot rubs on occasion. I think he would appreciate this mat too!

  94. Putting my feet up is a good start but a pedicure is the best!!

  95. These look awesome! I had no idea they came in so many styles, sizes, and colors.

I try to keep my feet up when I can, but that doesn’t happen a lot. I do like to get a really good pedicure and if money is tight I give myself one at home. So relaxing and my feet look much better after a little TLC.

  96. I like to put my feet up on the couch and veg… 🙂

  97. I like to put my feet up and occasionally get pedicures.

  98. great idea! i want one now. too bad they are so expensive!

  99. Stephanie says:

I like to soak my feet in hot water, and sometimes, if I ask very nicely, I can get my hubby to give me a nice footrub with lotion.

  100. I put them up and let them rest!

  101. A nice long soak.

  102. Kendell Michel says:

My husband gives the best foot rubs…..

  103. I soak them in the bath tub & read a good book to get my mind off them!

  104. Marlana Street says:

I use my favorite foot lotion, put on my fuzzy socks, and sit back and watch a chick flick on the weekend.

  105. I would love one of these!

    • @Eileen, Oops – here’s my solution for aching feet – I heat up a large sock filled with rice in the microwave and rest my feet on it!

  106. To ease my achy feet, I like to go to bed! But since that is usually not an option, I put on my wal-mart shoes that are like crocs – just as comfy but not so pricey.

  107. Beg my hubbie for a foot massage! Every once in a while he will ablige.

  108. Tiffany says:

Peppermint foot creme…ahhh…the best after a long day!

  109. I keep a tennis ball under my desk and rub my feet against it while I work … it helps a lot after a long run. 🙂

  110. I try to keep my tennis shoes on, so it doesn’t happen often. When it does, I put my feet up.

  111. I put my feet up and get a Diet Coke and watch a chick flick!

  112. hubby to the rescue! love those foot massages 🙂

  113. I have never found anything that relieves my achy feet. Of course, I’ve never had a pedicure, though.

  114. I wear shoes all the time until I go to bed. If it’s warm out, I have a pair of fit-flops that I found work just as well as wearing my Reeboks and I still get the benefit of feeling like I’m barefoot.

  115. Oh, that mat sounds decadent. 🙂 I usually pull on athletic shoes if I’m working in the kitchen too long but even that doesn’t help that much. 🙁

  116. I have been wanting one of these for years ever since my prior place of employment got one. For me it is not foot pain that I struggle with it is back pain. These completely take the pressure off and keep my back from hurting from standing long periods of time. It is hard to explain but basically for someone with cronic back pain these are a miracle.

But, to answer your question, on the very rare occassion that my feet hurt, I soak them. I hardly ever have aching feet though… kinda hard to feel it over the back pain!

  117. I only wear cushiony shoes and never go barefoot.

  118. This would be perfect for my kitchen-we have finished cement floors and I’m doing a lot more cooking now-a-days 🙂

  119. I like to rub peppermint lotion on my feet. It feels cool and tingly!

  120. I rub peppermint oil on them

  121. I take a hot bath to cure my aching feet.

  122. I make sure I get a pedicure once a month or once every other month. They are GREAT for your feet and GREAT for moms to relieve stress!

    megtucker (at) comcast (dot) net

  123. Heather G says:

One of the best things I’ve found is to lay with my feet up against the wall for about 10 minutes or so. Slide my tush right up to the wall and my feet are straight up in the air.

Rolling my feet over a tennis ball helps too.

  124. Tessa B. says:

I wear arch supports! HA! It helps 🙂

  125. Gillian says:

Foot rubs! I used to get pedicures but they’re not really in the budget anymore 🙁

  126. I make a foot scrub with cornmeal, salt, ground oatmeal and peppermint oil. I usually follow it peppermint lotion. It feels so good! I love to do this with my young daughters.

This mat would be terrific for canning season.

  127. I have another baby so that I can sit down and nurse every few hours. 🙂

  128. Stephanie P. says:

I have my son rub my feet for me and I have to wear shoes at all times!

  129. A bath with fancy bath salts. Followed by a luxurious foot rub with lotion.

  130. My daughter likes to give foot massages, but if she’s not there….I’ll use a tennis ball for pressure.

  131. Valerie S says:

To ease my aching feet, I try to always wear comfortable shoes (no heels!) and I get pedicures regularly.

  132. I’ve had a few pedicures in my life, and they are fantastic!

  133. I bought some new shoes recently and they made all the difference. Ten-year-old shoes, even if they still look respectable, are definitely not supportive!

  134. Shaunta says:

Though I enjoy being barefoot, my Isotoner slippers are constantly on my feet for comfort.

  135. Meghan L says:

Put them up and peppermint foot rub!

  136. I’ve been eyeing these mats. Wearing comfy shoes is the best way to avoid aching feet.

  137. Sounds wonderful! What do I do…beg for a foot rub and never receive it 🙁

  138. Kim Carlile says:

a nice hot soak in the bathtub!!

  139. After years of shoe stupidity, I’ve become more selective in the shoes I purchase. If a shoe doesn’t support my high arches, I don’t buy it. If it squishes my toes, I don’t buy it. If it’s not cushy…you get the picture. My feet are grateful that I no longer put them in clearance shoes just because they were inexpensive:)

Thanks for the opportunity to win the gel mat!
    Psalm 121:8

  140. Sarah M. says:

I put on my favorite pair of fuzzy socks and I put my feet up and watch a movie. Usually if my feet hurt I have done to much and they are telling me to rest!

  141. Oh, Mercy! I sure could use this! I have to always wear my slippers in the house, especially the kitchen. The tile hurts my feet.

I think I’m getting old, LOL

  142. I usually get off my feet when they are feeling really sore! If I can get a food rub from my husband that is even better!

  143. ohh my goodness i want this mat. I have been eyeing them for a long time. To ease my foot pain, i try and pamper my feet at least once a month. A good foot soak, massage by my hubby, and pedicure.

  144. I try to wear my dansko shoes when my feet are hurting… they really help them feel better!

  145. I rub some minty lotion onto my feet when they are especially tired and achy…but the easiest thing I do is just chill out in my hammock on the porch with my feet up once evening rolls around!!

  146. M in TX says:

I ask hubby to rub them for me.

  147. I soak my feet in soothing water and then rub lotion on them.

  148. Jacqueline says:

I love to get them warm. It can be with the electric blanket, a warm soak, or a heating pad!

  149. I have tiles in my home and I wear a pair of crocs slip on as house slippers and elevate my feet at the end of the day. When my feet really hurts, I rub white flower analgesic balm and sleep with my feet propped up on a pillow.

  150. Melanie says:

I soak my feet in the tub and then lather them with lotion and put on socks. I love to go bare foot too! I end up with acking feet fequently though with wood floors at home and concrete floors at work… Would LOVE to win this one!!!

  151. I take off my shoes and put my feet up. Just the act of taking off my shoes helps quite a bit.

  152. I love a foot massage- but hubby rarely gives them. So I do a foot bath or jsut rub some lotion on them.

  153. My wonderful husband so willingly rubs my feet when they are sore!! I’m so blessed!

  154. I wear my favorite Teva sandals!

  155. I make hubby massage my feet 😉

  156. Lea Stormhammer says:

If I have to be on my feet all day teaching (usually on concrete floors), I trade shoes halfway through! I always buy high quality (though usually on sale) but just changing the shoe usually keeps me from getting sore feet.

If that doesn’t work, I do an at-home pedicure when I get home – soak in peppermint epsom salts, followed by a peppermint scrub and then peppermint lotion. End with pretty polish on the nails and my feet are happy again!

I’d love to win the mat – especially with all the summer garden stuff and making pickles and jam, and blanching and freezing coming up!

    Thanks for hosting this!

  157. Jessica Croft says:

I take off my shoes, lay down and prop my feet up!

  158. Jennifer says:

I love to wash my aching feet in warm soapy water, then prop them up.

  159. Cecilia says:

I wear super comfortable and supportive slippers when I’m at home (this really saves my feet!), and in the summer I get pedicures regularly.

  160. I have a wonderful pair of house shoes that have great support and keep my feet warm in the winter. I might need to find something else for this summer, I think new Reef’s are in store for me. 🙂

  161. I usually just prop my feet up. I have tried out the mat before (in our schools copy center) it was awesome!!!

  162. Mrs. R. says:

I massage ’em with the free B and Body Works lotion I got through your site—thank you again! 🙂

  163. Mrs. R. says:

Oops—-the free lotion came via Money Saving Mom’s site—-I get y’all confused sometimes, which is a compliment to you both. 🙂

Than \k you for entering our family.

  164. I ask my hubby to give them a quick rub.

  165. Brandy F says:

    I use a foot bath.

  166. Jessica says:

I put my feet up for about an hour if I can at the end of the day – after the little one is asleep – or I sleep with a pillow under my feet if they have a lot of swelling.

  167. Slippers in the house and tylenol, as needed 🙂 In other words, I could really use some kind of gel mat! And a pedicure sounds good too! Thanks for the giveaway! ~C

  168. I have plantar fascitis and a huge bone spur from not wearing shoes and standing bare foot for long periods of time! I love to cook and bake! One of these mats would be such a BLESSING! Wear shoes with support at all times when standing for long periods! 🙂

  169. I try and take lots of breaks throughout the day. If I spend a large amount of time in one station, I try and sit down and drink some water before hopping up and moving on to the next.

  170. I usually sit down and put my feet up for awhile. If it’s really bad, I’ll give them a good, hot soak.

  171. Kristina says:

Like you, I spend most days barefoot. If I do wear shoes, they’re flip-flops… i’m a Californian afterall! Anyhoo, my feet hurt most when I stand in the kitchen for long periods of time. This would be an awesome thing to win!! My husband has actully suggested that we get one, but I can never bear to spend money on “silly” things for myself. Perhaps he wants to get a floor mat because he is who I go to for foot relief. I bring him the peppermint foot lotion, smile, and say, “can you rub my feet pleeeeeease!” He’s a real keeper for sure! Thanks for the giveaway!

  172. I spend a lot of time on my feet in the kitchen barefoot, too. When I am really lucky my husband will rub them, but that isn’t often – lol! I practice yoga and a good downward dog will actually stretch the back of my legs and feet pretty well. Sometimes I sit down and roll a tennis ball under the arches and that feels good, too.

  173. I hate to have anyone touch my feet, they hurt too much. So I usually just put them up and try to take a break.

  174. There’s not much I can do to ease my aching feet, since I dropped a knife on my foot and injured it over a year ago. I do prop my feet up quite a bit, though, but not much helps. I’d love to try a gel mat to see how far it extends my standing time!

  175. Shoes are my feets best friend, I would love to not wear them but they really help keep my feet from getting sore.

  176. At the end of the day, I make sure to put my feet up! Nothing but New Balance tennis shoes for when I exercise.

  177. When my feet are sore, I steal my husband’s ottoman and put my feet up until the throbbing stops. Then get up and hobble back to work in the kitchen.

Thanks for sharing about this great product.

    Wendy B

  178. I love to get my little girls to give me foot rubs. They are still young enough that they think it’s a treat for them to get to play in the lotion…lol! Sneaky mamma!

  179. Melinda M says:

I wear shoes with arch supports (or I have a lot of pain).

  180. Anna Whiteside says:

I try to work a pedicure in the budget. If not, I rub a thick lotion on and put on socks before bed. In the morning, feet are soft and smooth!

  181. Adrienne Larkin says:

Love this….now I know what to ask for as my Mother’s Day present.

  182. Christine says:

I have tried several different types of shoes but have come to the conclusion that I NEED one of these mats! I would be sooo happy to win!

  183. That mat looks like it would be so soothing. Thanks for reviewing it.

  184. I love to freezer cook and find my feet aching by the end of the day! I would love to try one of these mats out.

  185. i have bone spurs and planter faciitis and im only 23! im always the only person in the podiatrist’s (sp?) office under the age of 50. I blame wearing flip flops all.the.time. until i was 20. So if I go into the kitchen I HAVE to wear shoes if I want to be able to walk the next morning, one of these mats would change my life lol.

  186. I put my feet up and relax!

  187. I prefer to go barefoot as well, but there always ends up being a time when I’ve got to put on the shoes. Thankfully, I’ve found a great pair of flip-flops with really sturdy soles that help a lot. Sometimes, at the end of the day, I’ll rest the balls of my feet on ice packs. A soak is always nice too.

  188. I try to put them up! 🙂

  189. Maya Andrews says:

Well, I don’t do anything except hint for a foot massage from my husband! I do have a gift certificate for a pedicure I’m saving for the “right time” 🙂

  190. I like a nice soak and foot rub. Nothing fancy, just simple relief!

  191. I usually put my feet up to ease them when they get too tired. Of course, they don’t get to stay up very long.

  192. I love to get pedicures but being a stay-at-home mom on a budget I rarely get to. 🙂 I learned the soak in hot water with epsom salt trick from my dad though and I also have a wonderful hubby who will rub my feet if they are hurting. Thank you for the chance to win.

  193. I don’t have nice feet, although I haven’t always been very nice to them either. I always try to have on supportive shoes and avoid going barefoot as much as possible. That has really made a difference.

  194. I work full time as a nurse and I am 59 years old raising two grandkids ages 12 and 10. My feet hurt all the time!!!!! I have wanted one of these mats for oh so long but they are just too expensive for me. To soothe my aching feet….I wear crocs! They help!

  195. I splurge for a pedicure, the foot massage they give is the best!

  196. Really I just try to sit down and put my feet up. A pedicure would be great though usually not in the budget. Also, those anti-fatigue mats really are helpful if you are standing on your feet for long hours (ask me how I know!)

  197. I love pedicures (but, sadly, they are few and far between) or a good soak in the tub (again, few and far between). Most times I just deal. I would love to have some help with this in the kitchen with that squishy mat!

  198. I have been wanting to get one of these! I have to wear shoes to keep my feet from hurting, though I wish I didn’t. I also love to soak my feet at night, if I have time.

  199. Ooooooo! I like this! I too like to go barefoot around the house and standing for long periods of time aggravates my chronic lower back pain. I don’t really do much at this point, I am kind-of delinquent! It doesn’t help that I where flip-flops all summer too.

  200. I’m always amazed how simply sitting down at the end of the day relieves my aching feet. I guess I don’t pay attention to how much moms are on our feet every day!

  201. My 8 year son is sweet enough to rub my feet for me.

  202. I keep looking at these mats and want one for my kitchen. I got to actually see and touch one recently in Bed, Bath and Beyond and that made me really want one to stand on while I’m cooking it is so squishy.

  203. My feet hurt all the time from standing barefoot all the time, freezer cooking and homeschooling. I usually just take a hot bath to let them soak but this mat looks wonderful!! I would love to win one of these!!

  204. I usually rub my feet or soak them in hot water.

  205. wear good shoes

  206. Danielle says:

I try to wear Crocs while cooking, it helps some, but I prefer to be barefoot. I’ve been eyeing the gel mats for awhile, but haven’t wanted to spend the money.

  207. If I know I am going to be standing for a while, I make sure I have shoes on with good arch support.

  208. Ooh, looks good. I like to rub peppermint lotion on my feet!

  209. Oh, I like to go barefoot, too, and my feet, especially my heels, are feeling it after a long day. I look forward to putting them up at night! This mat would be a slice of heaven.

  210. Jennifer McB. says:

I try to just take a thirty minute break and put my feet up….my sister-in-law has back problems and this would be so good for her. Hope I win!! Jennifer McB.

  211. I beg a foot rub off of the hubby. Shoes with arch supports really help – but I’m my own worst enemy because I love going barefoot. This mat looks awesome…

  212. sue chibana says:

I wear tennis shoes as much as possible. I also soak my feet at night in the little tab while I watch TV.

  213. Jennifer says:

Well, I just sit down! LOL I hate the days where it seems like I never have a moment to relax. This mat looks heavenly!

  214. Christina says:

When the “dogs” are barking, I get a hot cup of coffee and prop ’em up. I’ve heard good things about the Gel Pro Mat and I’m crossing my feet that I’ll win 😉

  215. Elevating them really helps.

  216. I’ve wanted one of these mats for awhile now! Sound wonderful! For my feet my dear sweet husband rubs the soreness away 🙂

  217. I wear custom made orthotic inserts in my shoes at work and pretty much anywhere I go. They allow me to stand all day if necessary!
Those gel mats look great, I could use that in front of my stove! 🙂

  218. After a long day on my feet, I like to use either a golf ball or a tennis ball. I just place it under my foot and move my foot around. It gives a nice massage and makes my feet feel so much better!

  219. After an extremely busy day with the kiddos my husband will rub my feet at bedtime.

  220. I make sure to wear my crocs!

  221. Oooh, what a nice idea!
I just rub raw shea butter on my feet; it works better than lotion for the rough spots.

  222. I love to put my feet up at the end of a long day!

  223. oh my gosh, i’ve always wanted one of these! my two year old loves to give me imaginary pedicures. always such a treat. 🙂

  224. I wanted something like this so bad when I worked as a pharmacy technician!

Right now, I use those awesome gel inserts for my heels, feel like an old lady, LOL> I also like to do a quick massage with foot lotion.

  225. I like to put on cushy socks as soon as I get home from work… all day in heels is hard work!

  226. I sit on the bathroom counter with my feet in the sink!

  227. I “let” my 11 year old daughter massage my feet with lotion while we talk. She feels like she’s getting special attention and yet I am the one being pampered!

  228. Foot massage from my husband

  229. jessica says:

prop them up on the coffee table or footstool while I relax in the evenings!

  230. Man… I’ve ALWAYS wanted one of those!

I beg and plead for a footrub from my hubby…

  231. I soak them in a hot bath and apply peppermint foot lotion. works wonders.

  232. 😀 I actually found a man that will rub feet without being asked!! 😀

  233. As a teacher my feet are ALWAYS sore! I come home and either have the hubby rub them, or I get in our spa and hold them up to the jets!

  234. A warm bath after the kids bedtime!

  235. I often have heel pain, and falling arches from standing on our tile floor. I combat this by wearing good athletic shoes with arch support all day. I am a barefoot kind of girl, so this was an adjustment for me, but wearing those shoes while at home or shopping, has helped tremendously. I also do some foot stretches that my podiatrist recommended, and soak my feet when they are really aching. I have been wanting to try one of the Gel Pro mats for some time now–that is such a great give away!

  236. I wear sandals or tennis shoes with a good arch support on days like OAMC. I also alternate standing jobs with those where I can sit and get off of my feet. The gel pro-mat looks awesome. Looks like relief for my aching feet & lower back.

  237. I soak my feet in hot bubble bath water. I scrub them and put vasoline on them. My feet are always sore, I spend a lot of time chasing my daughter and in the kitchen. This would be awesome!

  238. I soak them in a bath.

  239. I have been drooling over these mats for some time, ever since I hurt my heal canning pears and peaches last year and standing on a hard tile floor for too many hours!

Now I have dedicated house shoes and if I am going to be doing a job with lots of standing on a hard floor I either try to break it up or do some if sitting. A nice soak in the bath tub after always helps too!

  240. My poor pregnant feet need this. I try to put my feet up when I’m sitting down.

  241. I always wear my tennis shoes with my orthodics when I know I will be standing in the kitchen for a long time or doing a major cleaning of the house. Then I sit back with a big cup of tea, but my feet up and relax.

  242. Good shoes. I am willing to spend more for good supportive shoes that still look nice. Ecco is a brand I love.

And the foot bath! Nothing beats a foot bath full of epsom salts and a few drops of essential oils. Aaahh….

  243. The only thing I do to ease my aching feet is to sit down on the couch or lay in bed at night. That mat would be amazing to have in the kitchen on the tile floor.

  244. I take time after the kids go to bed to watch a movie and cross stitch sometimes.
This mat sounds really neat! It would make a GREAT gift for my mother-in-law!

  245. My super awesome husband will rub my feet if I ask really nicely 🙂
A foot bath is nice too – I did that a lot when I was pregnant with my second child – I liked cold water – better than warm water on those achin’ feet!

  246. My feet instantly feel better when I kick off my shoes and peel off my socks. Nothing feels as good as bare feet. 🙂

  247. I would actually love to enter this giveaway so I could give this to my Mother in law. She is a mother of 7…currently 5 children are still living at home and she is in the kitchen a lot. She has some really old floor mats in the kitchen already. They are ugly and black and look like jigsaw puzzle pieces, but they are there to help support her back as well as help her out with a female issue as well. To help ease her aching feet, her hubby (my FIL) rubs her feet often enough and she is always wearing shoes to help her with support or those fuzzy slippers because they are more gentle on her. As well as one of those foot baths with Epsom salts. I would love to surprise her with this gift so I hope you’ll consider the exception that this gift isnt for me, but my Mother in law instead 🙂 Thanks so much 🙂

  248. I try to wear comfortable shoes as much as possible- especially if I will be standing long.

  249. Patricia says:

I have to agree when my feet are sore the first thing that goes off too are socks and shoes and then go and put my feet up for awhile.

  250. DragerMOM says:

This gel mat would “almost” be as good as a wonderful footrub by my wonderful husband of 30 years

  251. elizabeth says:

i have to wear my running shoes… i have plantar fasciitis & shredded tendons in one of my feet… this mat would be fabulous!!!!!

  252. Something to ease my aching feet? The occasional pedicure..but mainly nothing.
maybe I’ll win a gelpro mat and start doing something better for my feet on a regular basis.

  253. I wear a good pair of tennis shoes with gel insoles around the house & after a long day on my feet, my hubby (my Hero!) offers to rub them.

  254. Therese says:

I wear good fitting shoes to take care of my feet. When I sit in my rocker to rest, I like to put my feet on a hot water bottle. I also use a hot water bottle on the floor when I am at the sewing machine. I have a question: My serger rocks when I use it. Would this type of mat under neath the serger absorb the rocking and make for smoother sewing??? Love your blog! Therese

  255. Melanie says:

I put my feet up and relax!

  256. If I’m going to be on my feet for long periods of time (like doing my freezer cooking for the month – woo hoo, it’s done!) I wear really good shoes with support. When I’m done, and if time allows, I’ll relax with my feet propped up and enjoy a nice, tall glass of cinnamon iced tea (in the summer) or a warm cup of coffee (in the winter).

  257. I try to put my feet up to relax them for a little bit each day. This mat sounds heavenly though, I would love to try it!

  258. Julie Jones says:

Mary Kay foot cream used to be a favorite of mine. Trading cookies for foot rubs with my daughter is a good one too. lol The gel mat would make a nice gift to myself. Thanks for the offer!

  259. Tristen says:

I go through pairs of comfy slippers from Target, but it doesn’t always help!

  260. Anne Marie says:

A good hot soak in the tub really helps followed by a rub with warm lotion – then prop them up and do some reading!!

  261. nanasewn says:

Soaking and putting them up helps me a bit.

  262. It really helps when I spend a little extra money on my shoes!

  263. Kathryn K says:

I’ve had foot pain for several years, so I use the softest shoes I can find, wearing flip-flops usually.

  264. If I’m lucky my dear hubby gives me a foot rub!

  265. Krystal says:

I wear Nike flip flops. They are airy yet supportive and keep the little bits from sticking to the bottom of my feet.

  266. Deborah says:

A good soaking in hot water does the trick for me!

  267. Kelsey M says:

I love to take a hot shower and scrub my feet with homemade bathsalt! So wonderful!

  268. Thankful for my husband who gives the best foot massages!

  269. To ease my feet at the end of the day I kick them up on the ottoman and play on the laptop!

  270. I beg my husband to rub them!

  271. I do pedicures on a regular basis and when it gets really bad I wear my ugly supportive tennis shoes. I’ve had tarsal tunnel syndrome so I have to be careful. The mat would be great.

  272. If I get a minute I sit with my legs and feet UP…..even a minute or two really helps.

  273. foot massage by husband.

  274. I alternate shoes each day and have custom orthotics that I move from pair to pair. A great foot rub accompanies my monthly therapeutic massage — wonderful!

  275. Michelle says:

Pedicures have been cut from the budget – they are a luxary we cannot afford any more. So on days like today, when I spend most of my time in the kitchen on the hard tile floor (with no shoes, we are a no shoe household) I find myself to be hurting. My left heel aches and by tomorrow morning I’ll barely be able to walk on it (I should really find a foot doctor, but who has the time or $$ for that?). The best way to deal with the discomfort is to walk it off. As insane as it sounds it is the only thing that works. Of course, I’ll be back to squre one tomorrow evening, but such is life! These are the sacrifices we make for our families!

  276. A hot soak in a little washtub at night feels amazing! Thanks for the giveaway!

  277. I ask my husband for a foot massage after a long day on my feet.

  278. I would love this mat…I spend hours in the kitchen! To ease my feet, I always make sure I’m wearing shoes, even in the hot summer. The tile and hardwood floors wreak havoc on me!

  279. I recently got orthotics, so that has helped with the pain (I now don’t feel it until about 4pm instead of 11am)
But the best yard sale find last year was a foot massager from The Sharper Image store that I got for $2…it helps so much

  280. I would love to have this for my mom. She has back trouble and arthritis. I usually give her a pedicure for mother’s day, but this mat would be something that would help her to feel better every day!

  281. Wow. No idea they could look nice. I pictured the big black restaurant style mats. I totally could use one (or ten!) of these on they days I do cupcake orders or bunwiches!

I give myself home pedicures to make sure I don’t build up callouses.

  282. I put on lotion and fluffy socks every night.

  283. Oh, I could really use something like that in front of my sink. I get so tired of washing dishes (& we don’t have a machine).

To ease my aches, I ask hubby to rub my feet. Yes, it works. He is such a sweetheart.

  284. A warm soak in Epsom salts.

  285. A short afternoon nap, when the baby is sleeping and before I have to get dinner ready…that cures many aches and grumpy mommys.

  286. I soak my feet in warm water or, better yet – Hubby gives them a good rub.

  287. Melanie says:

I’ll usually put a pair of slippers or shoes on once they start hurting, that’s about the only thing that makes them feel better!

  288. Stephanie R says:

I know I should wear good shoes too, but I don’t like to wear shoes. It does help though if I try to make sure to keep my weight on the balls of my feet instead of my heels.

  289. I try to talk my husband into a foot rub. A warm bath after the kids are in bed is nice as well!

  290. Oh, good shoes are a MUST, but pedicures are fabulous as well!

  291. I soak my feet in warm water and rub special spa scrub on them. Sometimes my husband massages my feet. That’s even better!

  292. My feet are soothed by putting them up, and removing my shoes.

  293. I definitely have feet issues. When I’ve had a long day in the kitchen or just on my feet a lot, I try two different things. I freeze a water bottle and lay it on a towel on the floor and roll it with the bottom of my foot. The other thing I do is roll a tennis ball around under my foot. I sometimes start the day doing this while I’m sitting @ vanity doing hair and makeup or while sitting at computer.

  294. L Everritt says:

Soak them in a nice hot foot bath!

  295. put em’ up!!!!!! then a pedicure; whether it be self given, at the salon, or just a good rub down with lotion…my feet need a break! I would love a mat for the kitchen, that’s where it all goes down.

  296. Mallory says:

I slather them with coconut oil lotion and put on my favorite slippers!

  297. After trying to squeeze my feet into heels and shoes that were too tight for too many years, I now buy one good pair of sandals and sneakers that fit my feet. Happy, happy feet!

  298. I put my feet up!

  299. I would be ECSTATIC if I won this giveaway! I have Plantar Fasciitis and have had a terrible problem with foot pain ever since we moved into this house (almost 6 years ago). The Great Room, Dining Room, Bathrooms, Laundry Area, and Hallway are ALL hardwood. It is not good for my feet. Last year, I had an additional problem with my right foot and had to see a podiatrist for cortisone shots. (Thankfully, that is better!) I have looked into getting an anti-fatigue mat to put in my kitchen at the spot where I stand to wash dishes and/or where I stand when I make homemade bread. But, they are so expensive.

Aside from the shots, the best thing I have done for my feet is to buy Crocs. I bought them about a month ago from the online outlet store and I can’t believe the difference. If I had known how much they would help, I would have bought them YEARS ago! :o)

  300. TaylorBunch says:

I’m 6 months pregnant and cook a lot, need I say more?

  301. I try to get pedicures as often as I can and sometimes I get foot rubs from the hubby!

  302. These sound so cool! To relieve my foot pain I have my hubby give me a nice foot rub!!!!! This would be a great addition to my kitchen especially since we just got rid of our other one!

  303. Soak them in the bathtub.

  304. Heidi F says:

I try to wear tennis shoes all day when I’m home….otherwise when I do have a minute to sit down I prop them up to give them a break.

  305. Kelly Squibb says:

I wear a good pair of shoes and I will even switch my shoes throwout the day because this prevents my feet from hurting in just one pair of shoes. I also take breaks when I am on my feet more often or even try to pull a stool up to where I am working (if possible).

  306. I get one of hubby’s fantastic foot rubs.

  307. I would love to win this. I get a pedicure at least once a month to pamper my feet!

  308. a home pedicure

  309. Rebecca says:

My husband gives great foot rubs and I get pedicures occasionally. I am really needing to buy a pair of shoes to wear in the house when I am baking or on my feet alot, just for inside the house wear. We don’t wear shoes in our home, we have been working on getting new flooring and I don’t like shoes on the new floors. I know my feet were sure aching last night!

  310. I wear shoes with lots of support

  311. I prop them up at the end of the day.

  312. Ruth Hill says:

I wear shoes with good support so my foot don’t ache!

  313. Michelle says:

I make sure to always wear supportive shoes.

  314. Foot massages when I can get em!

  315. I love to just sit with my feet up.

  317. Dawn Avant says:

I ask my hubby to give me a foot massage!

  318. I pay my kids to rub my feet!

  319. Luckily, I have a hubby that rubs my feet when I need him to. Just as long as I return the favor! 🙂

  320. I offer to give my hubby a foot rub, then we sit at opposite ends of the couch, facing each other. He inevitably rubs my feet while I rub his feet. Happy feet all around!

  321. I put my feet up in the recliner. During the winter, I put on my plush Uggs…They’re just so soft and warm!!

  322. I try to wear my gel tennis shoes when I cook for long periods of time. If I don’t, my heels tend to bother me from standing on our hard stone floor. I would love to win this mat!

  323. I use peppermint lotion for my feet.

  324. I have problems keeping my hips in alignment and I find that after I’ve been to the chiropractor for that…..I don’t have nearly the problems with me feet and legs hurting. However, I wear good shoes with good arch supports and I try to keep moving. Standing in place for any length of time kills my feet and legs.

  325. bridget says:

i wear croc flip flops on my cooking days. those things are amazing.

  326. Kristine says:

I try and coax hubby into giving me a footrub 🙂

  328. Angela M says:

I put on lotion on my feet and then put on my socks to help my feet feel better.

  329. I usually carry the now-23lb baby on my back while cooking dinner. Ouch, is all I can say! But it does keep her happy and away from the bored older ones 😉

I try to sit down before dinner and put my feet up, but I’ll be sure to read through the comments and see if I can find some other things to help!

  330. Good shoes! Good Shoes! Really Good Shoes!
I also like to take a hot bath and hold my feet under the water as the tub is filling. When that fails, begging the hubby for a foot rub never hurts!

  331. Sit down!

  332. oh…good mat…probably makes even your neck feel better after standing washing dishes after dinner.

  333. I’ve been wanting a gel mat for awhile now so thanks for the chance. When my feet start hurting now, I switch shoes. Or – I just go sit down!

  334. Wow, this looks awesome. I don’t have much of a chance to rest my feet either, but I love to go barefoot!

  335. I would love a gel mat to help during my marathon ironing sessions. I stand on the tile and I too go barefoot. This mat would be a huge improvement!

  336. Not much…which is why my feet REALLY ache! Although, my husband does a great job of giving me a foot rub if I bat my eyelashes sweetly!

  337. I am afraid that by the end of the day when I finally put my feet up – they are actually throbbing in pain. It is just the saddest thing! I am trying to wear some inserts to help but have yet to see encouraging results. As for the mat – I have read about GelPro for years and would LOVE to receive one as a gift sometime or even better as an amazing give a way! Thanks for all that you do!

  338. My hubby and I have been trading off foot rubs – just what I need after a long day on my feet!

  339. Merry Jo says:

Either I or my hubby rub them! 🙂

  340. I need one! I ease my foot pain by coaxing small kiddos to rub them 🙂

  341. To ease my aching feet…I sit down and beg my hubby to rub them! And only wear comfy shoes of course!

  343. A nice foot massage from my hubby eases my aching feet 🙂

I ask my hubby to rub them… or I get a pedicure. Love my feet being massaged! I would so love to win this one!

  345. As sad as it is, I rub my feet myself. If I’m really up for it I will get out my foot scrub lotion with some peppermint in it to also help me relax even more.

  346. Ellen C. says:

I sweet talk my husband into rubbing them with some nice lotion. Thanks for the chance.

  347. I ask my husband to give me a good foot rub at the end of the day, and I try to slather on some lotion before bed.

  348. I wear my crocs when I’m busy in the kitchen…helps a lot!

  349. deseray says:

I love to get a pedicure

  350. I’m afraid I don’t do much to prevent sore feet. But I can always talk my hubby into rubbing them for me at the end of a long day in the kitchen.

  351. I love a good pedicure–with some extra massage time thrown in there! I also try and wear my running shoes if I know I’m going to be standing in the kitchen for a long time (like Freezer Cooking Days!)

  352. I prop my feet up when I’m nursing the baby, but with two older brothers, I don’t get to sit for long usually.

  353. I soak them in a tub of hot water. It also helps when the hubby rubs on them a bit 🙂

  354. I use Pampered Toes that divide and relax the toes…divine! I would love a GelPro mat for my baking in the kitchen.

  355. I wear my “indoor” Crocs, they really seem to alleviate that whole foot problem, now if I could just get a new lower back…

  356. When I get home I take off my work shoes and put on crocs, or my fake, CVS crocs.

  357. Im usually running around the house in slippers, socks or barefoot-none of which help support your feet all too much. When I was pregnant I bought an oversized dishpan, which I used to soak my feet in. I still take it out and use some good old fashioned Epsom Salt in it, when I need it.

Im afraid if I win this mat, my husband will want to steal it for the garage….LOL.

  358. I take a tennis ball and sit it on the floor in front of me and roll my foot back and forth over it. Podiatrist recommended to relieve foot pain. And depending upon the degree of pain, put the tennis ball in the freezer and roll away. Ahhhh….relief!

Plus, foot rubs when I can convince my hubby although he always quits long before I am ready! 🙂

  359. Wear comfortable/supportive shoes and socks. Have to limit the flip-flops and heels which is really hard!
Thanks for the amazing giveaway- this is on my wish list.

  360. I’m like you, I rarely wear shoes. So when my feet are aching I love to use our vibrating foot bath, with Epsom Salts. So soothing!

  361. Aching feet aren’t usually much of a problem for me, but when they are, it feels so great to just get in the bed.

  362. Julie Young says:

I do splurge on my feet once a month. Pedis are wonderful! Im an NICU nurse and we arent aloud to wear anything on our fingernails, so I make up for it with my toetoes!!

  363. Stretching and elevating is the best! Dealing with plantar fiscitis has taught me that stretching is one of the most important activities I can do to relieve pain.

  364. Putting my feet up helps all the aches and pains! 🙂

  365. I’m using meds after having a baby 2 days ago for my aching back. I was just looking at these mats in a southern living magazine.

  366. I try to wear good shoes when I’m going to be on my feet for awhile. It’s amazing how sore my feet get after a few hours in the kitchen without shoes. But with shoes on, I can keep going.

  367. Maritza says:

I faithfully give myself nightly foot rubs, once in a while hubby will give me a deep foot massage. I also do my own depicures and when I know I’m going to be on my feet for longer than usual I’ll wear tennis shoes instead of cute shoes all for the sake of comfort.

  368. Oh how I want one of these! I stand in the kitchen so much everyday and my feet already have issues without that. Currently, the only thing I can do is wear slippers to help ease it a little bit, but I hate having anything on my feet. 🙁

Oh how my legs ache whenever I have to stand for any period of time. I would love, love, love to have one of these!!!

  370. I’m another one who soaks my feet in Epsom salt. But if they really hurt, I’ll message them too.

  371. When finances allow, I treat myself to a salon pedicure – it does wonders for easing stress and tension, and makes my feet look pretty too!

  372. I give myself footrubs.

  373. I get my husband to rub my feet….no wait….I’m dreaming! Pinch! No really, I usually get a massage or a pedicure, but many times it’s just me giving the massage or pedicure!

  374. I have one of those little wooden knobby squares. I run my foot over it to relieve the aching. But having a new mat to prevent the aching would be better;).

  375. Stephanie Schuyler says:

I put on supportive tennis shoes to relieve foot fatigue especially if I have been spending too much time barefoot.

  376. I wish I could say I got a nice foot massage to ease my aching feet, cause I think that would be nice. Unfortunately, I’m very ticklish on the soles of my feet so that’s out of the question. I once kicked my husband in the face….

So I make a nice footbath with epsom salts and lavender. =)

  377. Foot massage!

  378. Heather says:

    Lotioned foot rubs.

  379. Michelle S says:

My wonderful husband massages them when asked, otherwise it’s some time in a hot foot bath with a fizzy ball…
