Music can do such wonderful things for your soul. It can soothe the anxious heart. It can motivate one to get moving. It can turn our thoughts toward God in worship.

Some of my favorites:

Your Name by Paul Baloche
Everlasting God by Brenton Brown
Hosanna by Paul Baloche
Mighty to Save by Laura Story
We Need Jesus by Kim Dexter
We Fall Down by Chris Tomlin

  1. Love your post! Chris Tomlin definitely has some powerful songs. So I think my songs would be “Awakening” by him, and “Our God” by him also. Got a chance to see him in concert in NC a few months ago, needless to say it was amazing! =)

  2. We’ve been listening to the Psalms in our car. Jamie Soles has two woderful Psalms albums, Pure Words (1-15) and Ascending (120-134). We’ve also been memorizing Psalm 103 and 19 using a We Sing the Word CD and it’s in our car, too. I think listening to God’s Word as we drive to and from our many activities has made a difference in our attitude. And my 2 year old can sing about half of Psalm 19!

  3. My top 4 right now:

Revelation Song by Philips Craig and Dean
    Hallelujah by Heather Williams
Light Up the Sky by The Afters
How He Loves by David Crowder Band

  4. During the worst of times overseas, when we felt like nothing was ever going to be right again, when we felt lost and alone, we listened to this “Blessed Be Your Name” sung by the Newsboys. Life moved on, God comforted us and taught us many lessons and brought us to where we are now. However, on Thursday I found myself at the same place – feeling broken, scared, and alone. I spent time in Scripture, crying out to God, and then I thought about that song. I listened to it and sang along through my tears and God reminded me that no matter where I am, He is there and I need to remember to thank Him despite my circumstances. Great reminder!!

  5. God and Man at Table Are Sat Down – the one I have is sung by Travis Cottrell
