Starting Fresh

This past week has been one of spinning plates. I did a lot of running around for science class and library trips and swim lessons. I forgot to thaw foods for meal prep. I overslept one morning and tanked the rest of the day. I don’t think I was “caught up” or ahead in any area of my life.

Let’s just say it was a week of “do overs.”

And while I would look at my to do lists and start to shake my head, one thing kept coming to my mind.

Tomorrow is a new day.

Thank You, Lord, that You designed our world this way. Thank You that the sun goes down and dark settles on the world. Thank You that the sun comes up and the morning feels fresh and new.

Thank You.

By His very generous grace, I can wipe my to-do list clean. (It is laminated, after all.) I get to start new each day. And so do my kids. And so do we all.

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

  2. Often times, my goal for the day is that we all finish it breathing. It all goes up from there! It’s days like you describe here where I’m so thankful that I can turn everything over to Him and let Him take the worry and grumpiness so that I can just muddle through.

  8. As I told my husband this evening, the house is still standing and our kids are all still alive so today was a success. It’s how I remind myself that I’m not the one really in control anyway. Thank you Jesus!
