The weekly ramble: where I blog like it’s 2004.

I don’t post too many pictures of myself, but this week I had the chance for a professional photo shoot, so why not? The afternoon was probably the highlight of my week. My friend Sharon is lots of fun, so I’m always eager to spend time with her. And when someone tells you you look pretty, well that’s pretty cool.

Sharon left the professional photog world to raise her family, so I’m always honored when she takes time to take my picture. The fact that her “pay” is a donation to a charitable organization always warms my heart. She gives. I need to be more like her.

Of course it was a bad hair day, but she made it all work and didn’t even appear to break a sweat. I don’t think these are actually any that we chose, but it was fun to see how different one person could look.

In other news, this week has been full of the CRAZY. The reality that our trip is looming in front of us and I am not ready was very palpable this week. I felt very frantic at the beginning, but by the end was able to put on my bulldog. That’s my husband’s name for this zone I get into when stuff has to get done.

And, yes, he does tend to take a step back and tread lightly when I’m in that zone. Ha! But, I got lots of the shopping done. I even survived taking a very reluctant teenage boy to the mall!

I’m ready for the weekend. How about you?

Meanwhile, here’s what’s been happening on Life as MOM:

Here’s what’s been happening on Good Cheap Eats:

Coming next week:

Be sure to let me know what stories and articles are helpful to you and what you’d like to see more of in the coming weeks. I want to make your “life as MOM” as fun and as easy as possible.

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
