This Week’s MOM Deals at CVS

My CVS trips have been few and far between lately. With the dearth of July “freebie” items and the scarcity of bonus CVS coupons, the deals just haven’t been calling my name. I appreciated CVS’ sending me a $4/20 coupon on the Fourth. That was very nice. And I am happy to see that they’ve released another online newspaper coupon. MoneySaving Mom has the scoop here.

So, all that to say, I’ll be shopping CVS this week! Yeah! I thought I had stocked enough diapers for the FishChick to last through August, so I started stockpiling for FishBaby. But, FishChick must be an active child as her supply is running low. Time to start looking for diaper deals. And this week CVS delivers with Huggies.

Here’s what I’m looking at this week at CVS:

(Hypothetical) Trip#1
Huggies $8.99
Excedrin Back and Body $4.79
2 Johnson Buddies soap @$.99 each = $1.98
Subtotal $15.79
Minus $3/15 coupon
Minus $1.50 Huggies coupon from a free sample that came in the mail
Minus $2 Excedrin coupon
Total due $9.79 + tax, but wait ’cause ECBs are coming.

Trip #2
Excedrin Back and Body $4.79
Excedrin PM $5.29
Excedrin PM $5.29
Subtotal $15.37
Minus $3/15 coupon
Minus (3) $2 Excedrin coupons
Total due $6.37
Receive back $10 ECBs for purchasing $20 in Excedrin products.
Total spent in 2 trips: $16.16, get back $10. The “cost” at this point would be $6.16, but there is a $4.79 Excedrin mail-in-rebate, so my final cost for 1 pack of diapers and 4 pain killers will be $1.37 + tax and stamp.

Basically if you have the right Excedrin coupons, plus the rebate form, in a sense, it’s a “money maker.”

4 Advil @ 3.99 = $15.96
Minus $3/15 coupon
Minus (4) $2 Advil coupons
Total due $4.96 + tax for four boxes of Advil which my hard-working man needs for his hard-working body.

I may also try to get another couple packs of Huggies, like this:
2 Huggies @ 8.99 = 17.98
Minus $3/15 coupon
Minus (2) $1.50 Huggies coupon from a free sample that came in the mail
Total due $11.98 for 2 packages. Not bad. No ECBs, but a “decent” deal for diapers.
We’ll see how much I can spare out of pocket.

Thanks so much for participating in this conversation about "a mom's life."

This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother's path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

So let's talk about it, using "our big girl words."
