It wouldn’t be a celebration without some good eats. And you know how we like those around here. New Year’s Eve just invites you to have some yummy munchies! We’re especially excited to ring in the new year with the Paine family who arrived yesterday for a visit. So happy to include them in our New Year’s celebrations.

Each December 31st the FishFam enjoys what we call a “snacky dinner.” After a few years it’s become a well-anticipated tradition. After all, hors d’oeuvres are great kid food because you can eat them with your fingers! And since cocktail foods usually don’t involve flatware, there should be few dishes. Talk about the perfect family-friendly feast!

Tomorrow will our 5 year anniversary! Hubbie has to work late, but I'm going to make his favorite dinner – french bread pizzas stuffed with bolgonese sauce! During the day my daughters and I will be making clock cookies! my 3 year old saw them on an episode of Max & Ruby! we're going to cut round cookies, frost them and then I'll pipe on the numbers! hopefully they turn out cute!

Sorry about #18…my computer went nuts on me and posted before I had changed my link from that last time. Thanks for the URS…I love finding new appetizer recipes!

Honestly – my NY Day recipes are pretty traditional, but for NYE, we like this:
easy NY Meal: shrimp cocktail, cheese/crackers, and smoked salmon/kapers/onions/chive cream cheese on cocktail bread, and grapes/strawberries…. Easy Peasy and good/light! Add champagne for adults and sparkling grape juice for the children and you are set!
