Well, this week’s ramble is going to be short and sweet. I spent the start of the week with this view. Yep. Stomach ick.
I’m not sure exactly what it was, but in the wee hours of Sunday night, I wasn’t doing well. I quarantined myself on a pallet in the corner of our room for two days, terrified that the whole family would get sick.
That would have been a sure thing when the kids were little and I didn’t have the freedom to lie around all day watching movies. Ha! Pride & Prejudice has always been a sick-day film for me.
But, it looks like whatever it was, no one else got it. Hallelujah.
I ended up watching movies on my iPad and texting a child to bring me food. They were so kind!
The internet said that 48 hours was a reasonable target, but I kept out of most public places for a few more days, just to err on the side of kindness.
Here’s what else I’ve been doing, eating, listening/watching, and/or reading this past week:

What I’ve Been Doing
Fridays are a photo shoot day for me, so I was glad to be well enough to get two recipes shot, including this Beef Pot Pie. So yummy!
Recipe coming soon to Good Cheap Eats. It was the first real meal I cooked this week, since I’ve subsisted on…

What I’ve Been Eating
Cinnamon toast and tea are my go-to’s when I’m not feeling well. And flavored yogurts. Sometimes boxed mac and cheese, but not this round. Toast and yogurt was good enough for me.
What I’ve Been Listening/watching
I worked my way through Hidden Assets, Pride & Prejudice, Emma, The Decoy Bride, Boglands, and Love’s Portrait. I might have watched some other things, but those are the ones I remember.

What I’ve Been Reading
I added one book to my completed list this week, My Merry Mistake by Courtney Walsh. I really love the other two books in this series. Unfortunately, this one did not wow.
It was good, but nothing amazing.
That brings my YTD total up to 10 books. I’d say Since We’ve No Place to Go was the best of the ten.
That’s it for me this week. Here’s to February being a healthy month!
How was your week?

Glad that you’re feeling better!

Hi Jessica,
Being sick is hard, especially as a mom. Glad you are feeling better! Looking forward to the Beef Pot pie recipe. My go to books when I am not feeling well are the Laura Ingalls Wilder series.
That’s a fun comfort tradition!
I’m glad you’re feeling better! Tea and toast are my go-tos as well when I’m sick and usually some sort of soup. You’re kind to keep out of the public places too. I wish everyone was like that.
It was a busy week of work here, and it’s still very cold. The three of us are flying to Florida next Saturday to visit family and thaw out for a week! It’s been cold there too, so I hope it warms up!
Hope you’re having a great time! My MIL says there’s snow in Florida. Did you take it with you?!
Glad you’re on the mend!
Thank you!
Tea & toast are my favorites when sick also.
What’s your favorite tea, Lisa?
