Happy May from San Diego. I confess, I was on the struggle bus this week when the sun spent days and days behind cloud cover. Now, after two days in a row of sunshine, I am in a much better frame of mind.

My hat goes off to those of you who live in rainy climates. I suppose I should move back to the desert, huh?
Besides the cloud cover, I dealt with a lot of pain this week. My shoulder pain from months past has morphed into shooting stabs of pain down my arm. I went to my GP who shared more details about last year’s MRI.
Due to the medical group’s cyber hack last summer I didn’t get much communication about all the testing I had done. Turns out there was bursitis as well as tendonosis. I’ve got an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon to figure out what’s what as well as a referral for physical therapy.
I’ve still got the burning tongue which has Doc B perplexed. He prescribed a variety of OTC and Rx meds as well as a referral to an ENT. He has no clue what we’re dealing with and so is just throwing cures at me. As one does.
It’s almost like being treated by the internet. lol

This last few weeks we’ve switched our weekly date to Saturday mornings. There’s less traffic, food and drink are cheaper, and we get a chance to get our steps.
Bryan and I recently discovered Philz Coffee. It’s a San Francisco chain with a location in the North County. We’ve walked by it at least 5 times but never gone in.
Seriously, it was the best cup of coffee I’ve had in a looooong time. They make you a personal pour-over exactly how you want it. Yum!

After our walk we stopped in at a farmer’s market. They’re rarely any fun around here because there are few farmers. It’s mostly food vendors and crafts people.
We did find this very cool chair that was decoupaged with a puzzle! I think this would be really fun to make, especially if you’re a puzzle family.
I didn’t sit in it, though, so I have no idea if it’s comfortable. Cute, though!
School is winding down for the kids, I’m trying to fix my broken body, and Gray May is in full force. I don’t think I have much else to report this week.
How was your week?
What’s up in your world? Leave a comment or a prayer request. We’re all in this together!

Sounds like menopause! Frozen shoulder and the burning tongue are some lesser known symptoms. Not much will help either though 🙁
An MRI shows bursitis and tendinosis in my shoulder so I don’t think we can blame hormones on this one. We’ll see on the tongue…
My husband has struggled with intense shoulder pain so bad he could not sleep. One thing that has helped him is a shoulder relief pillow system. It is not cheap but helped him so much. His is from MedCline but I think there are other good brands.
Thanks for the tip! I dialed our bed down to the squishiest and that helped last night.
I love Philz coffee. I discovered it when my daughter went to school in San Francisco. Well worth going to. Now she lives in Orange County and has a Philz close by.
We are laughing at ourselves since we’ve walked past it soooo many times and never tried it.
Weird health things in mid life are so hard and complex and they may be related to changing hormones levels which most doctors don’t have much (or any) training on. I dealt with somewhat mysterious shoulder issues for a year. I hope you get the solutions you need and feel better soon. You are not the only one who’s mood is impacted by weather – solidarity sister!
Thankfully, this is one thing that isn’t mysteriously related to hormones. lol. The MRI is showing stuff, so it’s just a question as to what to do about it.
I hope you feel better soon!
Thank you!
