I first mixed up this minty milk concoction about ten years ago when I found candy canes on sale. For ten cents a box. I couldn’t help but experiment with them.

My 12yo has remembered that experiment all these years. Recently, he asked me to make it again.

It’s incredibly easy and makes a great gift. Powdered candy canes are mixed with dry milk powder. The result is a flavored hot milk beverage — or a flavored creamer to add to cocoa, tea, or coffee. Easy peasy.

  1. My family thought i was nuts putting the candy canes in my ninja. Confirmed their suspicion when I whisked it with the powdered milk. 🙂 I enjoyed the peppermint milk. I bet it would be good mixed into hot cocoa? I don’t drink sweetened coffee but I enjoy peppermint tea with milk . . . I’ll see how this works adding it to my teas. 🙂 Glad I like it as I made a HUGE batch before actually testing it. This is going to be part of a gift to my office colleges with some of your chocolate chocolate chip biscotti. Thanks!

    1. It is good in hot cocoa. I’m so glad you like it, since you made a HUGE batch. 8) We are, indeed, kindred spirits. I’m glad you didn’t get stuck with something you don’t like.

  2. oops I completely forgot about looking at Christmas lights! We better get on it. How is it that the year with the crazy early Thanksgiving, thus giving us so much extra time, is the year we’ve done like NOTHING???? I have shopped and sent Christmas cards, so not nothing. But none of the fun stuff.
